He is from the band "Nitro" and i hate his sound. He also has a 4-neck-guitar... (maybe to top Steve Vai´s triple-neck heartguitar?).

How does Vai plays the left-handed neck ?
He practiced ?

Cuz' AFAIK Michael Angel is ambidextrous right ?
I think the 4 neck has 2 x 6 strings necks and 2 x 7 strings necks, maybe with some different tunings, and with some device to avoid the open strings ringing...
Anyway, that looks lame ^_^ (was impressed by the speed kill video though, and that over the neck tapping or whatever you may call it)

i won't even comment what i think about his guitar playing, cause my nonsensical shred-loving days are gone by.

But for god's sake, Michael, if you're reading this, lose the poodle hair.

Michael Angelo's 4 neck guitar is called the Quad guitar and was stolen from him at a concert. Some kid got old of the top 2 necks and returned them to him. Awwww.

His abilities are acrobatic, he's an entertainer. As far as his music goes, he is not that bad, I think he just needs a decent band. I have his Planet Gemini record, he uses his speed to some taste and he is the most clean guitar player you will ever hear. He also has theoretical knowledge of music and uses it better than any Cooley or Fareri or other declared shredders. I don't understand how sloppy Joe Stump holds the shred chair at Berkeley School of Music with guys like Angelo around. Plus, you would never believe who took lessons from Angelo: Tom Morello of Rage Against the Machine!

Again, Vai and Angelo are worlds apart, but they share one thing: total dedication to their instrument. They went in different directions regarding their musical expression, but preferring one to the other is a matter of taste, not recognising the better of the two. I take Vai over Angelo any time of the day, but nonetheless I have nothing but respect for Angelo, he is the master of what he does.

For some guitar trickery, check this vid out, it's called Guitars SUCK and is a conglomeration of some crazy guitar playing:

I agree. he is an entertainer. I can't say I'd choose to listen to his music really, but at the same time, as he is just about the most obvious "show offy" shredder, i think some people do tend to be a bit harsh on him, he does have some musical validty to what he does and its not all just done to show off, althoguh of course, that is all part of his act, and I appreciate what he can pull off and that it is all good fun :)

Me, too. I had a chance years ago to see him at a guitar clinic when he was out promoting Planet Gemini. I'd heard of him, but hadn't heard him.
So I went out and bought a Nitro album. They are, um, well, a... they were what they were. But he didn't play any Nitro songs, just the songs off of Planet Gemini, fortunately. Like you guys say, he's certainly no Steve Vai, but very entertaining live, especially if your five feet away, at a clinic with 15 people total :P

Okay, maybe twenty.

His playing kinda leaves me feeling cold. I'm a sucker for good technique, but if the end result is playing a long scale really fast with your togue...I don't get it.

Of course, I was weened on David Gilmour, for pete's sake. THERE'S a guitar clinic I could stand and watch for hours.

People bag on him because they don't really care for the skills and techniques that he's absolutely dedicated his life to mastering. They feel better about themselves because they can talk shit about his skills behind their firewalls and pretend like they care about the so-called more important aspects of music. But the bottom line is he absolutely shreds his guitar, and two handed synchronized playing is just flat out unheard of. I respect MAB's talent immensely.

Believe me man...I took no offense, and your comments really weren't that negative. I totally understand you being "over" shred, as it does get old fast, and one trick guitarists get phased out pretty easily if that's all they have to offer. I'm talking more about the seemingly growing population of bedroom shredders on various internet forums that just scream bloody murder if a professional musician misses one note
"OMG MAB SO SLOPPY AND THE VIDS ARE SPED UP!! HE SUX!"

Ya know what I mean? :bocul:

ahh, now your argument is way more well put :P
it's just cause it sounded way too generic :D

besides man, it's the fucking internet, if you care about it, you're doomed.

God bless the terribly politically incorrect but most accurate forum picture in the world:

but i actually understand what you mean, i actually get pissed at anyone that goes "OMG HE MISSED A NOTE OMG YOU TEH SUCKS", especially if they're talking about amateurs. Unless the guy who missed the note is an egomaniac, in that case i'd just laugh

A person like me that doesn't no spit about playing guitars could watch that and be amazed.

I don't think I have the right to give my opinion on how well he played, but I was entertained. I think the hair made it highly entertaining, but I'm not a hairdresser, so I'll just remain neutral and say "I liked it", and leave it at that.

Don't care for his music at all, but yeah...he's impressive, but more in a circus performer kinda way, haha.
