i dropped it once and now it wont turn on. i think i payed good money for a quality product, instead i get a shonky fashion accessory

The protective rubber covers stop that happening.. Otherwise mine would have broken a long time ago. Well, its broken now as well. Won't turn on or connect to the charger or USB port. This is my second one and I'm still under warranty but can't send away because I can't tell whether one digit on the serial code is a 0 or an O. The lovely people at customer services couldn't tell me which one it was either. So its just been sitting next to my computer since July. If I send it away and give the wrong serial code I'll have to pay the cost of a new iPod for repairs. When it works it's lovely. I much prefer having 20GB of music in my pocket than just the one CD in a discman.

tis interesting how people blame the little melody-playing apparatus instead of blaming themselves for dropping it.

Mine began to stall and skip songs when I was in Portugal over the summer and then it just died on the bus to the airport. Might've been the heat or something.. I dunno. Loads of bits just fell off where they were supposed to be on the inside of the first one I had. I couldn't think of anything that caused it. It was too badly damaged so they sent me a brand new one with extended warranty (the now broken one).

1 GB it is. Let me see... Right now I've got 126 tracks on it, including quite some longer tracks and usually recorded with 192 kbits/s or more. Oh... and thanks for reminding me of Gojira

Hey, my pleasure! :D

As for the whole iPod thing, we've got iPods (60GB iPod Videos) and they're awesome. We bought some decent covers for them to protect them, but things break if you drop them, so I guess you just need to be careful!

The only flaw I've found with them so far is the lack of video conversion software. I mean, really... a video player should come with the software you need to be able to watch your movies on it. But there are plenty of programs out there to do that, so it's just an inconveniance.

That's ridiculous! It makes no sense, in terms of customer service, to punish you if you make a mistake with a serial number. Or, even worse, punish you if they have a shitty typeset that makes it hard to disinguish numerals and letters! I would kick up such a stink if they tried to pull that on me.

I wouldn't want to be found dead with an iPod.

Does anyone have any experiences with Creative Zen MicroPhoto?

What, you cut the cables and it still works?

I bought it at Amazon

Maybe you'll find it cheaper somewhere else, but when I searched the web about two or three weeks ago, Amazon had the best price.

Did that with my old phone when the camera stopped working after it fell out of my drunk fingers and wouldn't bounce. Got it fixed for free.

I have an mp3 player. It's small. It plays music and it has a broken screen from when I sat on it various times and initially from when I was fighting someone who was trying to take my keys when I had it in my hand. I like it because it still works. It does have a corrupted file on it that takes up most of the memory, but I can still store 40-50 songs which I change lots. Yay for mp3 player.
