Yep, I've heard the new album and you know what? It absolutely kills Leviathan with its awesomeness. Seriously, this shit is incredible. No really long jams like Hearts Alive, but every song has its own thing going for it and the intensity level has just been upped a whole lot more. Crystal Skull (Im sure some of you have heard it) is just a fucking killer riff song, the Iron Tusk of the album. This Mortal Soil has got some awesome Rush like melodies. Carpillian Crest is just a labyrinth of a song. Circle Cysquatch will fuckin pummel you with its weight. All in all, very strong effort. Now I can't wait till it actually comes out so I can get the whole package with the lyircs and everything
It's about the same as Leviathan imo, lots of cool instrumental breaks. I still think both their singers kinda suck though.

yeah as always the vocals are the weak point but still good! production still seems muddy but... thought it would sound a little better being major label and all but I guess that's probably the sound theyre going for.
The rip that is circulating is very obviously of a shitty quality. But I wouldn't mind a muddier sound than Leviathan had.
I love the riff in Sleeping Giant. Capillarian Crest is the technical load-blowing they've been threatening for years, and This Mortal Soil is epic. I'm not sure if Homme's vocals on Colony of the Birchman ruin it or not... but I had to get used to the vocals on the last album too, so I'm sure I'll come round.
They seem to have slowed down even more, and the vocals threw me for a bit of a loop. but the clean ones are actually better than on Leviathan and to be honest they probably didn't use that much more than on that album. I'm glad they didn't slow down completely and still rip shit up on tracks like The Wolf is Loose, Circle of Cysquatch, Hunters of the Sky etc...
Apparently the vocals on Bladecatcher 'made sense at the time'... drukqs much? ahaha. Good tune though.

I love that Album...can't wait to buy it next month
I still think that Remission was their best because they focused on their good stuff, sludgy riffs and technical breaks, rather than their bad stuff, vocals and songwriting.

I tried to get into Leviathan, but I think I was a bit let down by it. I mean, when you look at the band name, the album name, the names of the songs, the imagery on the booklet...I was expecting something massive, magestic, absolutely crushing. And while the music wasn't bad by any standard, it did not evoke any of those feelings in me. And it didn't help that the vocals reminded me of a weaker version of Evan from Biohazard. I will give them another chance, though...
