Depends on the person who I should get convinced. If I know he or she likes crazier stuff, I go with Bad Devil, Earth Day or even Ants. Otherwise Seventh Wave, Life and The Fluke have given nice results.

Btw, Scar Symmetry really rules. I'm happy to finally hear a melodic death metal with a little twist of death metal in it.

I used Earth day. Since that's what got me into them, but they are too simple minded to get into dev.

I don't even try to get people into his music. It's not going to work anyway, my friends hate all the music I love by default. No matter what it is.

When I try to turn people onto Dev....people very very rarely ever respond....usually, they're too wrapped up in whatever they are listening to, to care about anything else.
Usually people who are musically advanced have already heard Dev.

Hm, I had never success convincing my friends, too .
SYL is too heavy and DTB too complex.
The only song a friend of mine liked was "Wild Colonial Boy".

I had a friend listen no "Life" and she said it was boring....

The only person I turned into a Devy fan was my roommate. I didn't really introduce him to Dev, he just heard me playing it all the time and started to like it.
It would probably depend on the person, but I'd use maybe Truth, Canada or War.

I'd use either Life, Roadkill, or Fake Punk

Synchestra seems to be quite accessible. The first songs that seem to get people hooked are:

Vampira, Gaia, Triumph.. and they always get a good chuckle out of Vampolka

Vampira... If that was the only song I'd hear from the record, I'd never buy it. My least favourite song on the album.

I use Forgotten to get people into DTB!
