well saw them last night in glasgow aaaaannnd they were good but i have quite a distaste for phil anselmo they songs they played were fantastic and i loved everymoment of music, but anselmo was so pissed that he rambled for up to 20 minutes inbetween shows and at one point fell over.... good gig irritating frontman.

anyone else seen them of late... were you there last night monga i thougt i saw you?

Holy crapamoly...I just sent you a PM on the SYL board asking you about this show...ignore it if you have this thread.

But yes...I agree with you. Me and my brother went and both really enjoyed it, but I was bit disappointed by Phil's behaviour. It was a bit worrying that he was that wasted while still on stage. His ego seemed like it was nearly going to burst! Talking to the crowd is fine, but he was just babbling incoherently and made next to no sense at all.

Still, thankfully he didnt need to play an instrument as his drunkenness would have been more disruptive. The other guys were on top form. To be fair on Phil he didnt really miss a note (or not many anyway).

Falling over drunk during your first song isnt exactly a good example of professionalism. Did you notice how after he 'went for a piss' he came back even more wasted? Ha.

yeah i just replied but yeah musically impeccable but they could've played twice as much if he wasn't so full of himself... and rex looked most unimpressed by him, and yeah in thet SYL hat you looked luffly but i was pretty pissed and i didn't think you (or who it may have turned out to be) would've appreaciated a drunk aberdonian babbling on, fucker of a que outside too!

He looked pretty fed up when the crowd were chanting for Phil...and at the end when Phil was fucking about on the guitar. I am surprised the rest of the band put up with him.

I did have my SYL beanie on when were outside and for a bit inside, so it may well have been me! There was a fair few Devy/SYL fans there though. Next time say hi!!!

See, being in the crowd and being drunk...thats kinda expected. Being like that on stage...thats just not cool.

Just returned from the manchester show, & i can say it was fucking awesome they played "jail" live i mean come on!!!! On of my most memorable gigs. Truly amazing seeing crowbar a few months back really set me up for this one. Does anybody else find the idea of Phil Anselmo using a mic like a roll-on deoderant surreal? because it did happen. Our show was very heavily filmed my guess would be a Down DVD sometime this fall.,.,.,.

Sound was awesome, seeing jimmy.pepper, phil, kirk, rex on the same stage was beyond belief.

I urge everybody to catch the rest of this tour,.,.

Just to add here seems like manchester lucked out with regards to phils attitude it honestly seemed to myself and 2000 others that phils bad years are behind him. Still making him one of the greatest frontmen ever. He was humerous, genuine, & honest with us this evening. Not to mention the guy has more vocal talent in his middle finger than most vocalists have period.

We got Jail too, and it was stunning indeed! Probably my favourite Down song also.

I was kind of hoping that it was the case that we were unlucky to get a drunk Phil (well, apparently drunk, it could have been anything ha).

They were filming in Glasgow also though I have strange feeling they wont use much of this footage. I cant help thinking that although the show was fantastic, it would have been that much better if he had been sober. I just got the impression that if he had been in control, it would have been a perfect gig.

Now, the Corrosion Of Conformity show not so long ago...that was a good example of how to do it!

Anyway, I agree with Tren, if you get the chance...go see them!

Down is touring??? WTF? I figured those guys were done...I saw them last year and they were awesome indeed. I was impressed by how faithfully they rendered the old tunes. But Phil's drunken redneck rantings are just terrible.

When I saw them, they fucked up "Stone the Crow". It was damn funny!

This is crazy maybe a for 2000 strong manchester audience, Phil just decided to be on his best behaviour. Seriously he was in no way intoxicated at our show. Wierd.

From what I understand, when they are finished this tour they are going to make Down III. So the tour is some sort of warmup.

Though this all depends on Phil not completely messing everything up for the other guys...but that probably wont happen.

My god, with a crowd that size...Phils ego may just explode! Still, they will probably be stunning on that scale.
