Lordi rocks!

hilarious, for the next couple of days they are probably bigger than Metallica, G'n'R and AC/DC together in Europe

i always wondered when Finland was sending one of their cheezy metalbands to the eurovision song contest

We have had several (Nightwish etc) in the preliminaries, but all the grannies have always voted for their generic tango singers that no one in their right mind listens to - unfortunately the grannies are very numerous still, but 10-15 years down the line, Finland will belong to the youth

Finland!
Next year Amorphis, Apocalyptica or Waltari please! :o

Seriously, Apocalyptica could have a "serious" chance - or not. Anyway, Scandinavian rock and metal rules!

As for Lordi, I just downloaded the song, it's a pretty tame and bland rock song, but at least there are electric guitars and evil masks! All hail Gwar, Mr. Bungle, Rob Zombie, Slipknot und Dschingis Khan! 8)

You can here at the end the french commentator saying :
"they won't win with that, next performance Vincennes Zoo"

I don't consider Lordi metal? It's like ABBA with guitars, and costumes. So it makes sense that they won.

And concidering they are probably the only contentant that wrote their own music and played it live (no tapes involved), they deserved it.

Yeah, it was pretty lame, a total lack of respect, but what were you expecting?

Anyway, they won

And we need a Eurometalvision!

Oh my God, I would never have imagined seeing a Hard Rock band win Eurovision! This is just... FUCKING GREAT!!! HARD ROCK HALLELUJAH!

And who cares if they're good or not? What matters is that rock won for once!
