Is it just me, or is the intro to Vicarious a sort of humorous version of Dream Theater's intro to New Millennium?

Don't forget the similarities between "Forty Six & 2" and "Home"

Why do you think that? Not saying personal taste is wrong, of course, just wondering. :)

Personally I think it's one of their best. lateralus and this one are their best works in my ears.

agreed!

I have been listening to that CD A LOT since I bought it and it's defintely right up there with Lateralus for me. The 40 seconds starting at about 8:35 in Rosetta Stoned...that's probably the best Tool moment EVER!

I'm in the same boat. I guess they're just not a band that I'm able to "get". They're technical enough, but... blah.

You know, this album is defenetly a grower. Thought it was pretty shit at first, like they just threw it together. But alas, time went on and I'm seeing its genius. Roseta Stoned is absolutely fantastic but might puzzle some of their more less open-minded fans. the 10,000 days epic is immense and the build up is beautiful, when he says "It's time now, my time now!" gives me goosebumps everytime. Jambi is a monster, Intention is spacy and wonderous.

However, I still think the beginning to Right In Two is a little stupid. The whole monkey thing he's talking about sounds a little silly, I don't know. (Of course, this is the same band that wrote Hooker With A Penis and i love that song, so I don't know)

Viscarious is the shallowest song in my opinion and even though its catchy I would gladly trade it for something a little more abstract. Its just got single written all over it.

And the ending is a little stupid. I need to hear an epic Third Eye ending again. Guess I'll have to wait until 2010 to see

thats my favourite song on the album. maynards singing about how humans act. listen to the lyrics and it makes alot of sense.
