I'm certainly not a fanboy. Before this album, I didn't really like them much. This stuff is great.

Opiate was eh, OK

Undertow was slightly better

Aenima was pure fucking genius and made me love tool

Lateralus was eh, OK and BORING, in my most humblest of opinions...

10,000 Days is back to the PURE FUCKING GENIUS of Aenima....this record is fucking awesome!!

haha, I love people who assume anyone who likes an album they dont are fanboys.

On further listens I think this is the only 70+ minute album I wish were longer. It just ends too soon! It needs some sort of "Third Eye" or "Triad" like Aenima/Lateralus had to sort of wrap it up, ending on "Right in Two" just isn't fair.

I also think that Wings for Marie/10,000 Days" is on par with Meshuggah's I for best song ever recorded. It would be worth the price of the album alone even if the rest of it sucked...

Didn't hear 10.000 Fists (uups!) yet.

Lateralus didn't grab me though, it's just very...

...dry.

Let's see how this one turns out.

Yeah, it's a common phenomenon, weird huh...

I liked Lateralus the best of their old albums. I actually found Ænima to be slightly boring at times, but Lateralus had so much more colour and psychedelic undercurrent. This album seems to be an extrapolation of the psychedelic thing, taking it into a larger framework and allowing it space.

I assume everyone who likes this album and hails it as "Tool's best" [sic] are fanboys because it's a piece of shit compared to their previous albums. I didn't buy the "decoy"-theory to start with...but after 10+ listens to this "album" I realized it HAS to be a hoax.

If this album is the real thing, who leaked it? What is the original source of the leak? There is not a piracy-group out there that wouldn't put their name on it if they leaked this album. Doesn't make sense at all.

The Pot? You gotta be kidding me...

The production and sound varies from song to song. Jumps from Opiate to Lateralus and then back to Undertow and Ænima. They've also used artwork from the Lateralus-tour on this album. I can clearly hear elements from previous songs on this album, which only strengthens my belief that this is an b-side album. Right in Two strongly reminds me of Pushit (live) and The Patient.

well, I guess we'll find out in a week.

Personally I think you buying any silly conspiracy theories probably makes you a bigger fanboy than anyone else posting here... :D

You care too much.
It's ok.

Dude, there are promo CDs circulating among Sony reps as we speak. The security is tight on this one and they will lose their job if they get found out as the source of breach. I am not speculating, either, nor am I mentioning names, out of respect.

There is a bogus "leak" torrent out there of a band that sounds similar to Tool but aren't.....they're trying to get their name out there. Perhaps that's the one you downloaded?

There are also bogus torrents of strange noise and shitty music out there, under the 10,000 Days label.
