Hey. I just got "Synchestra" and I love it. I love how it's one long piece and all the changes. I'm a sucker for vocal harmonies and overlapping. Should I get "Terria" or "Ocean Machine"? I've come to the conclusion that those are his best ones. I'm into prog rock but I like some heavier stuff like dream theater and opeth. Porcupine tree is my favorite band. Just thought maybe these facts would lead you guys to know which album I should hear next. Thanks. :D

Welcome aboard.

Either is good. I bought OM when it was released, and it remains my fave (just) out of the two of them. Infinity also has some of Dev's most intricate overlaying to date. All of the albums have a different feel to them, so if I were you I'd buy them in chronological order to get a good account of the musical evolution contained therein. :)

both...

Terria is my favourite but get them both, flip a coin, get one now then get the other one when you're ready...

I think you'd really dig Terria the most cause it's got alot of prog elements to it. Ocean Machine is my personal favourite though cause it's just gotta incredible vibe to and it totally takes me out of my frame of mind.

Hmm, I think you would like Terria better, but you can't really go wrong with either.

Terria's my favorite.... and yeah, it's much more progressive than OM. OM's got some wicked vocal melodies, though.

Ordered the 2 disc Terria for 13.75 total. Hope it arrives soon and I like it.

Download everything and buy what you like.
Do not buy records upon somebody else's tastes.

I tried downloading some of his stuff but can't find any. I did song samples of both albums (OM and T) and found that I liked T more from the 30 sec clips I heard. I realize that they don't really tell you anthing about the songs (especially when it's DT who changes a lot).

I dig both of them.
But OM is the grail according to me.

City, OM, Infinity (original tracklist) are the hevydevy triforce!

If you want another prog fix I agree, Terria's the way to go. Still get your mitts on OM though, as both are absolutely essential.

Sod it, just get both at once I reckon: it's like 'choosing' between Heaven & Nirvana!

That's your opinion. Not fact.
