I'd rather have all my senses, but my parents are deaf, so despite losing my second greatest passion I'd be better prepared to lose my hearing than my vision.
Now, would you like to explain what's so "important" about this poll?
It's always a toughy...from a practical standpoint ,to loose your sight would be the most disruptive, but to loose that level of verbal communication would suck too...not to mention not being able to play/listen to music
I've often thought about this, for some morbid reason, but I've never been able to come up with a definite decision. There's no good choice for me!
To be born without one of the two would be best - you would really never know what you were missing. To have sight or hearing and then lose it would be a truly terrrible thing.
That's true in one sense, but then if I was to go blind tomorrow, I know I'd still have the same visual memories of beaiutiful thigns, to be able to remember vividly colourful scenes etc...and if I was to go deaf, at least I'd not have the same trouble of learning to speak as deaf children do ...mah, none of the options are good
Without my hearing, I would miss so many sweet sounds, voices and music. Retaining my vision would not compensate for this.
Without my vision I would not be able to see the beautiful things and people I am able to see. I would not be able to draw. Being able to hear things would not compensate for this.
A strange argument this, and one that seems to pop up quite often. I often think it is quite selfish of us to discuss it like this, as many people often never have the 'choice'. We are lucky to have what we do and what many do not.
