Talk about other artists here (even though they all rip off Meshuggah)

Morior Axis, sort of Enslaved-ish or Opeth-ish metal from gr1m and frost...well, actually pretty warm now Sudety in Poland. I suggest to listen carefully to whole of the following song, it's very atmospheric and full of win (<3 the guitar at the beginning). Also pretty good Animal impression from the drummer.

They're young band and have like 8 fans or something. I think they deserve to be big with such talents, it's top music right there.

I dont know if it's been posted here or not, but I think everyone needs to listen to "Animals As Leaders" if you dig instrumental music and music that is technically proficient without being show-offy.

Man Must Die - No Tolerance For Imperfection

pretty good Death Metal from Scotland, a bit technical here and there but not too crazy, which I like. I'm kind of tired at the moment of all those übertechnical DM bands. This is still nicely brutal, the production is pretty good and there's still enough traditional riffs in it to make it a pleasuring listen rather than giving you a headache.

Minsk - With Echoes In The Movement Of Stone

If you dig Neurosis and Isis then this might certainly be something for you. Mostly (not always) slow, lots of tribal drumming but still nicely heavy. I have come to really love this Album because it really does combine everything I like about Neurosis with a nice kind of post rock'ish (what a word) Isis kind of vibe. So if that's the kind of music ya like, check it:

Tombs - Winter Hours

This music is best described as post hardcore with old school black metal influences. Sounds weird...and I guess it is....but it's the good kind of weird. Sometimes they remind me of early Cult of Luna, other times Neurosis and again other times you can clearly hear the influence that old school black metal bands like Darkthrone and Bathory have had on them, especially their older stuff. Have a listen...

Clutch - Strange Cousins From The West

This is one kick ass Southern Blues Rock band, if I may put them into that category, and this Album is definitely one of my favorites of this year. The entire Album is really, really good from start to finish. If you like bands such as COC and don't know Clutch yet (although Clutch are a bit more blues'y) then you should check them out now. This is music with balls....hairy balls...sweaty, low hanging, hairy balls.

CHICAGO DUMP!

Along with the above:

Naked Raygun - Old school punk.

Lair Of The Minotaur - Death/Black/Extreme/blackened Death/Whatever metal. My point is these guys are intense.

Ion Vein - Old school thrash-esque with a bit of new school fit in.

Sacred Dawn - Prog metal.

Totally agree with that. Its instrumental but never gets boring, it grabs you from the first track and although technical its got a good groove.

I recommend musk ox for fans of acoustic, nature inspired beauty. myspace.com/embraceinashes

When this thread gets rolling it's undoubtedly the best on these forums. :D

I'll throw my name down on the support sheet for Animals as Leaders and Clutch. They're two bands I think everyone should check out...

Minsk and Musk Ox both sound really cool, I'll definitely have to look into em a bit more.

Nik I think you'd like Vàli, it's really chilled out acoustic folk from some guy in Norway. Not the same as the doomy drone band from Essex, that's Váli. It's all in the diacritic!

Breed 77 - Someone on this forum works for them (I think it's Lettuce).

Cunninlynguists - One of my favorite Hip Hop artists right now.

Lionel Leuke - Jazz.
