Talk about other artists here (even though they all rip off Meshuggah)

"In A Dark Tongue is a gorgeous slow burning psychedelic song cycle, smoldering minor key epics, the sounds warm and thick, the guitars viscous, the atmosphere murky and mysterious, yet strangely sun dappled and dreamlike, effects everywhere. Strings soar and sing, warped and processed loops, Sunn-like guitar drones, not heavy so much as intense and darkly effulgent. The two longest tracks appear to be the space rock centerpieces, channeling the extended heart-of-the-sun outros of Hawkwind and old Monster Magnet into classic krautrock heaviness, each a mesmerizing seemingly neverending space jam rife with relentless rhythms, roiling psych drone tumult and thick warbly synths underpinning moody meandering guitars. Soft and shimmery one moment, heavy and psychedelic the next, a breathtaking and expansive glimpse into some glorious sonic otherworld, where the already blurred lines between drone and doom and drift and psych and kraut and space cease to exist at all."

Steve von Till's (Neurosis) side project. Awesome.

Faith No More (Probably The Real Thing would be best, but Angel Dust is my favorite), Bungle's first (self-titled) album (But second is my favorite), or if you're a fan of The Jesus Lizard, Tomahawk.

Or Dillinger's Irony Is A Dead Scene EP.

Edit: Or plow through everything and go straight to John Zorn's "Litany IV" :D

Try Matrix & Futurebound. Wonderfully melodic stuff. Pendulum's also nice, but you probably know them already, they're massively famous as far as I know. Oh, and Miloopa -it's a fully live band and it's completely awesome.

Ok, they're not that fast and brutal, but still very drum and bassy

I knew about Pendulum already, but the others are great! Thanks!

I've seen them live and didn't like it one bit.

EDIT: That was a bit harsh I guess :P But there was this whole hype around Demians. You know the deal, Steven Wilson, blahblah. When I saw them (him really) play live though, it all so uninspired and lacking originality. Add to that that he's not he very good singer or guitar player, and I just wasn't impressed. Went out for food instead.

Pretty big on the first song on the album. The rest was good, but never got the same intensity for me (intensity not to be confused with heaviness, kids).

Whoever recommended Animals As Leaders, THANK YOU. Been listening to them. I showed them to a friend, and he recommended EST (Esbjorn Svensson Trio), a jazz group. The piano player died a while back, but these guys are incredible.

Oh dude... you know that feeling you get where you hear something amazing or ridiculous in music and you just start laughing? That happens ALL THE TIME in jazz. Happened to me when I watched those EST videos. They're nuts!

Where do you work?
