After listening to the leak for a week, then getting my hands on the physical discs, the difference is immense. I'm digging Sky Blue a lot more. Played at high volume, it is fucking glorious, so many good cuts across both discs. Very happy, anytime a new Devy album drops, my mood completely swings towards the positive end of things.

Swapping his vocals with Annie's on Fallout was a huge mistake. To me Devin's version feels like one of the highest points of the album, whereas Annie's is a much more standard track. I wouldn't call it bad per se but I would call it highly inferior to the original version

Hoping he releases that version on a demo disc or boxset or something at some point

As for the music itself I'm finding myself spinning Sky Blue a lot more than Dark Matters. DM kicks some ass but SB just has some really nice tunes that are really doing it for me right now. Rain City is 100% future classic

I think the Anneke version fits the overall album better than the Dev version, but as a standalone song I like the Dev version better. It's too aggressive for Sky Blue, IMO.

Ok, I caved in and listened to the leaked Fallout. Dev sounds awesome, the overall track is great. I'll make my comparison with Anneke on vocals once my CD arrives. Only Dev makes temptation so hard to resist.

Excuse the iPotato quality of this. I don't know if it was a dye error, but the slipcase that came with it has a tinge of blue/green to it. Strange, indeeed.
