Whoa, this is so heavy! And unbelievably cheesy!

I felt similarly. I don't normally gravitate to the lyrics of songs on the first rounds, but I actually really liked the words in this song. "Half of you are eating, half of you abstain, tear away your motive throw your goddess on the flame." That bit stuck out in particular.

 Hahaha Yeah, it sure does. :D

Alllllso, though I haven't allowed myself to listen to it because I can't stand the pressure, here's Rejoice. If this isn't an official release of the song, you can go ahead and delete it or tell me to, swerve. You can just look it up on youtube on your own.

It's taken from a French rock magazine sampler, so I'd say that's an official release. Not sure the rip is, but whatever. If it gets taken down from youtube, it's gone here as well so I can't say I'm too fussed about this one.

Also, between Rejoice, Deathray and Universal Flame, this one has definitely grabbed me the most so far (although I've found Deathray pretty nice as well). This month's end can't come soon enough.

Deathray is so far my favorite, spoken bits and all!
It is like the soundtrack to a Ziltoid pinball machine (if you are old enough you'll remember) the narrator, the characters, the fun chorus, it's an experience that will get better in context I am sure, but it's a great sample of the whole product, never forget this is a space rock opera!

Rejoice is a good single choice but Fallout would have blown the world away IMO

Universal Flame is probably my favourite track so far, I really enjoy that fun, poppy side to Devin's work and it just has a super uplifting vibe that I really like. Deathray is awesome, and I really like the female vocals on Rejoice (not quite so into the delivery of the verses) and enjoy the song overall. Can't wait for my digipak to arrive, goddamn.

Was just looking through the names of those in the Universal Choir, and I've found a few funny gems:

An Infinite Number of Exploding Dogs
Germany
Zac Bastard-Axe
Stinkfoot & Graybags

Any chance that the Z2 album will be released before the official date, or at least mailed before so the fan gets it slightly before or at least on the release date? I know some artists mail one week before the street date. A good example of this is Ayreon. Any chance of that happening here?

Your best bet is a leak if you can find one (I wouldn't though, torrent sites are riddled with fakes loaded with viruses) but to be honest; the final mix is lightyears better in comparison so you're better off waiting for the CD.

The CD's are going to be sold during the Devin guitar clinics in Australia next week, so I'm sure it will pop up online soon after. I know CM Distro usually ships their discs the week before release. I've always gotten my pre-orders from them the week prior to release. I know others have not been so lucky, though.

I've been doing a good job not thinking about the album at all. Thank god too, I'd be an excited mess. I can't stand waiting for things haha. I'm excited, yes, but trying to deny it so I don't go nuts.

Just to let you all know, there's at least one person (not me) who has the full album in 192kpbs quality shared on Soulseek, so it's likely to leak to the torrent sites and the rest of the web in a few days. I'm not sure if it's the pre-release mix or not, but at least its a step up from the college radio rip.

And just let me say that god DAMN is this album good! For me at least, this album exceeds all expectations I had for Z2. It showcases everything I love about Devy, with equal parts epic heaviness and melody, silliness and maturity, joy and melancholy. I seem to recall in one recent interview that Devin said this album sums up everything he's ever done, and I would have to agree.
