"Death" and "devoid" are too much alike and "Victim" is probably the least interesting off the album.

Hmm, I read an interview not long ago where he said he would enjoy doing a remake of Victim. I wish I could remember when or where.

He should do that. A 2 disk album, one with various rerecorded songs spanning his career and the 2nd disk is the entire Physicist album rerecorded. Should make a topic discussing what songs you'd like to hear rerecorded for a project like this... would be fun... I dunno...

He already has redone "Kingdom" like twice so no. Maybe, instead, the rest of the album plus "Forgotten" would be a good idea. And instead of just rerecording songs that don't in anyway require it, why not a set of reimaginings? He keeps reimagining his early demos so why not?

To be honest, I really think Devin shouldn't re-do any of his songs.

Obviously, the production of Physicist leaves room for improvement, but in my opinion Kingdom does not fit on Epicloud at all. I really like the atmosphere of Physicist and the re-recording kind of messes up that feeling. I often skip the version on Epicloud, because I want the Physicist-vibe with it. Also, I think the re-recording of Om does not add any value to the original, which is one of my favorite songs overall! Hyperdrive does have a new touch to it, with the vocals of Anneke. Still, I am way more attached to the original ZTO version.

Please, just let Physicist as it is! It might not be technically perfect, it does have a very unique and irreplaceable vibe to the songs...

I agree on all fronts. While I do love his vocals on the redone version, I keep wanting him to scream, "I suck dick for crack money". It feels too serious on Epicloud.

"Hyperdrive".... I like Anneke, but that is my least fave from Addicted!. The ZTO version feels more like it is going somewhere.

I don't mind much either way. I am just not going to buy a complete redone Physicist, because well I actually really enjoy it as is (and I know I have said a lot of this several times, so I will stop. ).

I'll give you that one, actually. All the stuff he took out of Om really made it lose its impact.

But I feel like he did an excellent job redoing Kingdom and Hyperdrive. I'd trust him to pull off a revisions album.

I'd agree - Devin writes 4/5 songs a week, don't know why he's re-doing old tracks. I too don't like the Kingdom and Hyperdrive re-recordings. They're not bad in themselves but my point of reference is always with the originals because I've heard them first and both kill the flow of the albums.
