I wasn't going to listen because a) poor quality youtube rip and b) I'd prefer to hear the album without commentary the first few go arounds. Well, I broke down and decided to listened to Kingdom, but ended up stopping it a minute in. I started to get a feeling I can best describe as being how I felt as a kid playing Mortal Kombat 2 in the arcade for the first time. It seemed so familiar, but far more evolved and interesting and real. Maybe it felt more real because I associated it with how it's been preformed live the last few times I've seen Devin live.

Either way, well done Devin.

Oh, and pre-order placed. Can't freaking wait to hear the whole thing.

After thought, Kingdom, Grace, More! and Hold On are my favorites. Save Our Now I like, but it probably is the weakest track on the album. Just think of it as a moment in the clouds.
I'm still laughing at Devin's ambivalence to Lucky Animals.

In all honesty, I'm sure it will when I've heard a proper mix without a bald man's ramblings over it (though the insight was awesome).

Oh wow, I'd say I liked it, as I did with Decon, but only Ki would be on my top albums of all time. I wouldn't even put any of them, minus Ki, on my top Devy records.

I have an unhealthy love for Devin. What can I say? It really bums me out that he kept saying that there won't be another one like this, but I know that everything he makes will be amazing.

I wonder how different Z2 will be from Ziltoid and Deconstruction, though. He said on the commentary that he won't make the same album twice, but Z2 is a direct sequel, so...

Just write into the story that Ziltoid is bi-polar, thus justifying a change in the mood/music of Z2

I just hope the video's back after the album is released. Gotta love commentaries.

Also... Epicloud is actually pretty similar to Addicted. Although less "dancey" and the songs being very original (except of course Kingdom), that poppy vibe is there in both albums. I expect Z

Just gotta counter the few people saying Save Our Now was the worst track on here by saying that it's the one that stands out the most to me! God I love it. Love the catchiness, the layered female vocals, everything about it.

Overall the first half (up until after Divine) strikes me as a little better than what comes after, but I only listened once to keep some surprise in there. It's just really wicked, and I think on initial impressions I love every track I heard except for Grace.

In response to people ranking it in the Top 3 or whatever, I'm not exactly sure where I would put it. Accelerated Evolution is virtually untouchable at #1. The rest is a clusterfuck that includes City, Alien, OM, Terria, Infinity, Synchestra, Deconstruction...I think you get the picture. All I know is that Grace and Angel are probably going to wind up as some of my favorite Devin songs of all time. Devin really knows how to use Anneke. And Grace is just so goddamn awesome.

i just took a nap and dreamed that i heard epicloud w/dev's commentary! strangely enough, there wasn't any part of it that left me feeling unimpressed, which is odd because upon first listen of any dev album, i always get that feeling with some part of it. now i just want to hear a loud, hi-fi version of it without our beloved dev-master rambling over it :D

and it seems uncool to like the songs that everybody else likes, but everything about Grace, holy mother of batman  instant favorite! Angel was phenomenal, as well!

The first listen left me a little bored, but I attribute that more to my mood than the actual album. The second listen is going much, much better.

Save Our Now.

the end of More? Coolest riff on the whole album.

Although I'll never be able to listen to either song without hearing the other from this moment onwards.

haha, it's uncanny. The best artists ask for permission before they steal.

EDIT: checking out pendulum on spotify. enjoyable, and I'm not usually into electronic.

EDIT#2: really liking this. thanks for linking.
