Thanx Dev. 8)

Huh. Kinda surprised you didn't say Dev was delicious.

I'm surprised as well - now someone else has to say it, someone's gotta put it out there

Dev would do it himself, but he's too busy... being delicious.

Has anyone noticed the OBVIOUS 'Planet Smasher' re-take starting at 45 seconds???

Dev, from the comments: "In this part of the story...Ziltoid comes back, and he's pissed...the song is called 'Stand', Ziltoid moves up a dimension and he can smash planets now."

yeah, ziltoid plays a significant role in the story, but he's no longer funny...or a puppet. he's a bona-fide planet smasher now.

I wonder what the story is absolutely based on? Is Devy himself taking a roll? Or is it another "Presented by Devin Townsend"?

Cool.. I always figured Ziltoid was a one off thing but I'm happy to hear he's back and serious.

That sounds amazing. Is that V a possible signature model? I'll definitely get one, if not, how can I get one?

Ziltoid as a planet smasher sounds interesting. How is his relationship with Herman these days?

No, my sig model is a more modern take on a tele, possibly semi hollw, with an interesting pickup config.

The story of Deconstruction is still in the construction stage (!) Ziltoid is a character, but in more of an observational way, it's not his 'story', he's just made an example of.

It's brutal, and unhappy, and congested, and frightening...with an unexpected resolution at the end that frees up the binds. In fact, the end makes the beginning seem ridiculous.

I do love concept albums...
Decon sounds fantastic, extremely heavy but still dead serious and meaningful.

That right there is enough to sell me on it's brilliance.

SYL was indeed a great band. It was the project that introduced me to Dev, and in many ways, the last stop on a long road out of heavy land. I felt like Charlie in the glass elevator. I had crashed through the roof of what heavy music was, and looking back, saw the limits of expression that it could offer.

I love heavy music to this day, no doubt, but SYL had never given me what Dev is now. SYL marks a certain period of my life which was, as Dev had explained, full of chaos and confusion, spite and circumstance. I'm ready to move on as a person, and EVERY one of his musical ventures has been a monumental expression of the way I felt at the time. This music you are making is simply beautiful, and as the counterpoint to your earlier work, it makes me feel like there are still forces of benevolence in the world, and I am ready to follow you to the precipice of the musical universe.

In short, keep doing what you're doing, Dev.

We will all continue to support you and "larn" with you.
