So, with all things considered and said in this thread about Deconstruction, about it being a sort of release that opens up a new plain...
would you say that the fourth album wouldn't be possible without Deconstruction being created first? Or do you think the fourth record has already been written, and its already been planned out?

In an interview (about a month ago or so) he said that the fourth album had not been written yet. I've also gotten the image that Deconstruction needs come first, before the fourth one can be done.

Ok, wait... Another interview pretty much states that the fourth one has also been written, atleast for the most part.

Little late to this topic -

The Dev wrote:Nope, actually what I'm looking for IS a progressive drummer, but one that does grinds and stuff as well, with tight snare attack, a balnce hit between cymbals and drums, and tight feet.

A prog. drummer would be a really refreshing move in my humble opinion. I'm inclined to think that all those kindsa guys are some of the most talented, given that they have to play in all kinds of off-the-wall time signatures, be extremely versatile in style and technique... all while making the song sound good and hang together.

There's a lot of heavy prog. out there, I'm sure there's someone out-there enough, who could also own on Decon.

I bet he'd give it a try, though, and history has shown him to be interested in and comfortable with side projects and so forth.

There's the obligatory Mike Portnoy reference here. I think it would be interesting to see him in a project where he is really stretched, not just playing his usual stuff. I bet he's got a ton more juice in him than seems to appear in a lot of his projects.

Gavin Harrison is an interesting choice - I think he could pull it off. He can play... anything. Anything. I don't doubt that he could whip it out on something like Decon. No doubt he could handle the heavy stuff. And he plays around with a lot of people.

And Portnoy has one of the best double-kicks I've heard in a long while. And he can play the heavy stuff as well.

With that being said, any new developments or decisions made, Devin? :P

If you're talking heavy with deconstruction, and proggy, technical drumming, there's only really one person for the job.

Nick Barker if you get around the visa issues. Testament couldn't.

I have always wondered why those Norweigans always have trouble with visas in North America. Do they all have intense criminal records? What is the big deal?

We in the US had some ridiculous security standards after 9/11. I believe there was a point where congress was attempting to make any foreigner entering the country leave fingerprint records (but the plan was scrapped).

I would imagine it was scrapped because the vast majority of foreigners don't want America to know jack shit about them, let alone keep their fingerprints on file like they're some kind of fucking criminal!

I thought he already chose a drummer(s)?

Ok, I'll bite....Bobby jarzombek, again. After seeing that video with him hitting cymbal crashes behind his head, I am sold. 8)
