That was well said. Thank you for the ideas you presented.

I appreciate the consistency to Devin's writing. It is a wonder to see actual musicians progress their own abilities and expand their music and sound but still go back to that familiar rhythm or ideas that they have been running with the entire time. Sort of like a, "check out what I can offer now but let's not forget where we came from". It is what really separates the true musicians from people that play instruments in a band. It is so much easier to just continue writing songs and never come around in a full circle than it is to come back home and still make it sound fresh to the ears and have your listeners not get bored of it.

Some musicians say they don't ever want to come back to where they started and always want to push forward. It makes me wonder just how much better some bands/musicians would be if they took a moment to reflect on their past ideas and try to incorporate that while still expanding on new ideas before entering the studio.

Hey, not sure if it's been noticed before, but the part that starts at 6:46 in the last video is the ending of Processional from the Infinity demos!

Also, that would great to have a orchestral-only version of Decon released in the future (maybe as part of the DTP boxset).

Very promising record!

Holly hell that orchestral version only of dwecon would be nice to hear. I fell in love all over again with Tools Ænima after hearing the string quartet tribute to that album<3

I think someone already mentioned Processional a little earlier just after the clip was posted.

An orchestral version would be awesome. Let's add it to the list... Decon (orchestral version), Ziltoid (live at Tuska 2010), b-sides from DTP recording sessions, etc.

Devin can use as many of his riffs as many time he wants. Like in Ziltoid...
I believe it's Colour Your World, in the end where the rythm is the same as
towards the end of Info Dump on Alien. And another part of Colour Your World
which is a nod towards Love? and the beginning of Polyphony from The New
Black which is pretty much the acoustic version of the intro on Judgement
from Synchestra. Of course there are more but those are the ones I can remember now.

I love it. It's like meeting up with a good friend you haven't seen in a long time.

Anyone else hear hints of Random Analysis in the metal parts of that video clip? I can't help but think of that track when I watch it.

Same. Except the vocals in Stand blow my face off and crush everything... Planet Smasher doesn't do that for me. :P
