Any ideas on who are the last couple of guests? You guys think theres any chance that Paul Masvidal could be one of them?

Looks set to be my next choice of album to play when I'm angry and need to put my fists in the air.

Love it :D

Ironic (but intentional, I'm sure) that you slipped that into the song off Decon that sounds the most like Meshuggah... at least, IMO. The big, chunky riffs; all that good stuff. Not that I have a problem with that... :D

Paul Masdival would amazing - soaring robovocals could be yet another sound.

If Chris Poland dropped in a solo this would be like the pow-wow of all I hold dear in this little life.

One thing I want to comment on in this discussion, since Deconstruction is so heavy and whatnot, is the just absolutely moving beauty of some of the pieces.

The piece at about 90 seconds into the youtube video is incredibly moving and makes me misty-eyed. Honestly, I had no idea Decon was going to go there at all. I'm so pleasantly surprised, and I hope that even if it's only the boxed set, that there's just the orchestral arrangements available.

Juular's part reminds me a lot danny elfman's work with tim burton movies, amazing ^^

The orchestration stands on it's own. I love the way the video gives us a taste of the orchestration alone, and then shows us how it works in the context of the song.

You know what would be an awesome box-set extra? A disc of Decon with just the orchestra and choir.

for some reason juular makes me think that if it got a video it would be devin dancing down a street in a top hat. while being folowed by a oompah band.

I'll join in with a lot of the other comments I've read, and say that it would be really cool to have a disc of just Deconstuction's orchestral elements. And, since Dev's already planning on releasing Ghost 2/Dark Ghost as a full album along side Decon and Ghost, I think it'd be best just to throw it in the DTP box set, if it were to actually happen. But, even if it doesn't, I won't be disappointed... just the fact that we're getting a Dev album with an orchestra and choir on top of it is enough for me :D

And, since Juular was brought up... does it vaguely remind anyone of Prometheus-era Emperor? Now that we've heard what part of the (near) finished track sounds like, I can completely imagine Ihsahn singing clean over it, especially considering Dev said that he's the guest vocalist on that track. Sort of like the operatic-sounding vocals he busts out in The Eruption, In the Wordless Chamber, etc...

The second Deconstrupdate had me sitting in front of my PC clapping! The ending is just TOO good!

I still can't belive that Devin had the opportunity and budget to work with a proper orchestra - I'm amazed! Is there a possibility that the orchestral parts - alone - end up as a bonus feature on the hopefully forthcoming DVD?

I'm not sure if anybody on this board knows the Finnish metal/crossover band Waltari, but they performed two symphonic projects years ago, " Yeah! Yeah! Die Die! Death Metal Symphony in Deep C" and "Evangelicum" (the latter only performed live, but never released as a proper album/DVD), some of the best metal-classical fusion ever performed:

Devin's new work reminds me of these projects - in a very good and totally original way.
