Just read all 104 pages of this thread. Learned several things:
This has only cemented more for me that this will probably (imo) be the greatest album he's ever produced. Hell, that anyone has.
Some people don't know how to read. It's ridiculous how many times people asked "is gene gonna be on the record?" or how many times Devy calmly said "no",. Then, when he asked what recommendations people had for drummers, & specifically said "other than Gene", people were still asking about him. THEN, months later when he referenced multiple drummers working on the record, people were still asking about him. Gotta be rough sometimes, having to wade through all that.
Dev's said multiple times "If you expect SYL for this album you.will.be.disappointed", yet people still go on asking "Will it be like Alien? Or City?" He's definitely got more patience than me, I would've snapped. I loved SYL too, but it's dead. We got 5 great albums. If it's not conducive to Dev's well-being, he shouldn't do it, plain & simple. Yet there are people out there (not necessarily here) who would rather he just grind himself into the ground making albums like that for the rest of his life.
If I recall, that's part of the whole concept behind Decon, isn't it? People wanting heavy/extreme at all costs, at the detriment/exclusion of everything else, including the artist.
Finally, if this record's this intense, I cannot wait to see it's counter-balance, as well. Ghost is shaping up to be just as monstrous.
