Ihsahn's the only one confirmed for guest vocals, and I seem to remember DEv mentioning that he'd like some deep growls on Decon, so what purpose would Tommy Rogers serve? Dev can do everything he can, plus 10, and not sound intolerable whilst doing it.

And three guest vocals wold be pushing it, I mean, he's Devin Townsend, he needs no guest vocals!

Devin Townsend, Mikael Åkerfeldt, Ihsahn and Joe Duplantier... just add Jens Kidman and it can't simply be any better in any way.

And if there's a music video with all of the above, Abbath doing his crab walk and the guys form Amon Amarth synch-banging, this album will be the be-all and end-all of metal as a genre.

Heyo, there's simply too many vocals on the record and it had begun to sound tedious with one voice, so I'm hoping that these voices can be textures.

So far, it sounds perfect.

So we really are being treated to a real metal opera. I don't know how Devin will be able to top himself after Decon. :D

Must check them out...

Haha. That's brilliant news about Joe

I ran into Devin when he came out to Australia... Mentioned to me that Joe from Gojira would be on the album, and I pretty much wanted to explode, because that dude is amazingly heavy, and that band blows my mind every time I listen to them. Dude has the voice of a cranky God. Devin said that he didn't want anybody knowing about the guest appearance, so being the good fan that I am, I didn't say anything about it on these forums.

I thought Joe wouldn't be making the appearance after it was mentioned that not as many guests would be on the album as originally intended.... It's awesome to hear that it's most likely still going ahead.
Here's hoping that Townsend is also making an appearance on the next Gojira album.

I actually like the idea. Having guests appear on an album always adds an extra dimension, no matter how small the contribution. Especially with vocals. I can't wait to hear how all these voices are used!

So maybe it was the new Gojira ep that Dev recorded vocals for.

Wouldn't surprise me at all... The new Gojira has been advertised as having "international guests from the heavy metal community"... Holy fuck this year's already looking amazing for music.

Just so that you'll all think I'm the bees knees; I called it first!

Maybe Randy from LoG hooked him up with them?

Of course, at the time I had forgotten that Devin had verified his love for Gojira many times before...
