Seriously, fuckin' awesome show last night. Once again more than totally worth the 7 hour drive. Setlist was an incredible thing to see, although I agree, I would have preferred to see Liberation over Lucky Animals or something. That being said it did really come alive live, and was a lot of fun to do the Gangnam Style dance to for awhile
Got to see Dev after, waited by the buses for him and after awhile he came out and chatted with a couple of us that were waiting for him. Chatted for probably a good ten minutes, which for me, even over the show, was the highlight of the night. Talked about weather, entitled new fans he's been receiving as the Project gets bigger (more on that later, and in other sections lol), how tired of Lucky Animals he is, how freaking EPIC Retinal Circus is going to be (seriously, people going are in for a huge treat), how Casualties is coming along (will be coming out before Z2), recognized me from the forums (once I gave him my name) and from the Colorado Springs show last year, and other assorted stuff. Signed anything I put in front of him too, bless his heart. Seriously, what a truly good human being Dev is. A great night.
Only downside, as previously mentioned: entitled people. Seriously. People next to me at the front... oh my fucking god. This rant will be moved to the "Un-Awesome" section, as I think all the good should stay here by itself haha. But yeah, that part sucked.
Anyway, yet again, Dev reinforcing why he's my favorite artist.
Sidenote: Anyone really excited to see Paradise Lost... don't get your hopes up. The singer came out and sang two songs last night, then at the end of the second song comes to the mic and says, "I'm sorry. I can't sing anymore. My voice is fucked. I'm really sorry." And walks off stage, leaving the rest of the band looking utterly bewildered. According to Dev guy was really sick and just couldn't do it. Poor guy, felt really bad for him. But yeah, not sure how long he'll be out, but just fyi for you Paradise Lost fans out there.
