Are you going (or planning to go) to the Devin Townsend Project (as co-headliner; Katatonia headlines this night) at the Marquee Theater in Phoenix?

Feel free to discuss anything related to this show here!

Setlist:

Truth
War
Regulator
Planet of the Apes
Sunday Afternoon
Supercrush!
Kingdom
Vampira
Animals
Juular
Grace

Great show. I brought some people that only really heard Addicted or Ziltoid. They couldn't stop talking about how awesome Devin was after the show. One of them mentioned an aura he had, which is pretty damn true Planet of the Apes was AWESOME live, as was Grace and Sunday Afternoon(!) Everyone in the crowd REALLY got into Lucky Animals, and my friends all said it was their favorite out of the whole show.

Can't wait to see him again, thanks so much Dev!

O_o

Best. Setlist. Ever. If only he'd get rid of Lucky Animals and put in something like...oh, I don't know, Liberation or something. Otherwise, that is about as close to a dream setlist as I have seen from Dev.

Seriously, fuckin' awesome show last night. Once again more than totally worth the 7 hour drive. Setlist was an incredible thing to see, although I agree, I would have preferred to see Liberation over Lucky Animals or something. That being said it did really come alive live, and was a lot of fun to do the Gangnam Style dance to for awhile

Got to see Dev after, waited by the buses for him and after awhile he came out and chatted with a couple of us that were waiting for him. Chatted for probably a good ten minutes, which for me, even over the show, was the highlight of the night. Talked about weather, entitled new fans he's been receiving as the Project gets bigger (more on that later, and in other sections lol), how tired of Lucky Animals he is, how freaking EPIC Retinal Circus is going to be (seriously, people going are in for a huge treat), how Casualties is coming along (will be coming out before Z2), recognized me from the forums (once I gave him my name) and from the Colorado Springs show last year, and other assorted stuff. Signed anything I put in front of him too, bless his heart. Seriously, what a truly good human being Dev is. A great night.

Only downside, as previously mentioned: entitled people. Seriously. People next to me at the front... oh my fucking god. This rant will be moved to the "Un-Awesome" section, as I think all the good should stay here by itself haha. But yeah, that part sucked.

Anyway, yet again, Dev reinforcing why he's my favorite artist.

Sidenote: Anyone really excited to see Paradise Lost... don't get your hopes up. The singer came out and sang two songs last night, then at the end of the second song comes to the mic and says, "I'm sorry. I can't sing anymore. My voice is fucked. I'm really sorry." And walks off stage, leaving the rest of the band looking utterly bewildered. According to Dev guy was really sick and just couldn't do it. Poor guy, felt really bad for him. But yeah, not sure how long he'll be out, but just fyi for you Paradise Lost fans out there.

^No mention of that on the facebook or Twitter pages for Paradise Lost.

I mean, if his voice is simply fucked, I can't blame him. I saw them three times during the summer festivals in Europe, and I don't even know how many they were at.

Seriously... Planet of the Apes, War, Sunday Afternoon, and Truth all in the same night?! Gosh dammit I literally live walking distance from this venue but I was in California for the weekend and at the LA show. Not complaining about that show because it was AMAZING but this is like my dream set list! That's too bad about Paradise Lost though :(
