Double post. I have been abusing my power plenty these days.

Well, what a gig/night. However, as far as relevant to the show, I think it was pretty darn awesome. This was easily the first time I felt really old at a show (I'm not old.) and there were some kids that could stand to learn some mosh etiquette, as I had to protect my 5' friend probably a little bit too much for the bands that were playing tonight (at least before Bodom anyway). That said, while it was a very young crowd, almost everyone I talked to was really nice and having a great time.

Obscura were actually pretty damn cool (not that I ever thought that they weren't.) I actually probably liked them second best, right behind Dev. I need to pick up that new album.

Septic Flesh, well, I don't dislike these guys at all, and I think they're very cool at what they do, but it's not entirely my thing. My buddy Dana basically said that she felt like we were watching a musical version of Interview with the Vampire, and I could not stop laughing and it killed their set for me. Sorry guys, you're great at what you do, just not my thing.

Dev was great. The whole band seemed to be rocking out better and tighter each time I see them. Dev had his usual wacky antics on stage, and it was a good time. RVP's drumming continues to improve, and Dave and Beav were solid as always. Dev's vocals were a little low, but we were so close it didn't really seem to matter.

Setlist:
By Your Command
Truth/OM
Supercrush
Kingdom (I may have mixed the order up between this and supercrush)
Stand
Juular

Wished it was longer, but no matter.

Didn't buy any merch, and other than the cool new hoodie I just didn't see anything that was really for me, and seeing as dev stuff is a third of my wardrobe at this point, it's about time to take it easy.

CoB came on and surprisingly, Alexi didn't seem drunk and was pretty point on. But I didn't end up staying inside too long because I had to talk to some guy outside. Besides, I heard two Children of Bodom songs, I heard all Children of Bodom songs (SORRY, I DON'T MEAN TO BE MEAN).

I ended up chatting with this nice crew of fans out front, real nice kids. Unfortunately they had to bounce back to their hometown before they had a chance to meet with Dev.

A little bit later, Dana, Devy and I chatted for a bit, and some more nice younger fans came up (Dev signed a booklet for one guy, a piece a paper for another and shook a kid who just went to his first metal show's hand. AWWWWWWW). Mostly it was just light stuff, but Dev did say he was coming back on tour in October for a headlining run. Yay. We let him bugger off to sleep and we hung out for a while around the venue. I ran into my old roomie, getting his fortune read on the sidewalk by the venue.

Like I said, what a night. I couldn't be happier.

I wish this forum could have worked for me BEFORE this show so I could give the skinny on before and after but that is oooookay!

Very weird lineup. But an all and all entertaining one at that. The show sold out so....there it is. BOOM!

Obscura, kinda sad they went on first. Too high energy to let them go on first. (But if I had it my way....yeah we can all play THAT game) Great job.

Sceptic Flesh, vampires....period. I'm convinced they suck the blood of millions on the road. ( All in good fun. :) )

Dev, he was on it, everyone was on it. I found myself not being able to sing a lot because A.) there were millions of kids squashing my lungs B.) I was just having too much damn fun. Wished the set was longer but happy to have been there in the first place. YUPPERS!

CoB, what a throw back. Didn't seem as if Alexi was hammered this time. The guys were flawless. I lost Cody to the sea of folks outside but caught the end of the set and the beginning of the encore. Great set.

Post show. Talked to the Dev in the alleyway (CREEPY! haha) with Cody. A little nervous at first. It was my first Devin real life encounter. It was like talking to an old buddy who went away for the summer, came back, and had a normal quick chat. We talked about his touring, audio, and Cody's job and things. Then there was a wittow cute group of 15/16-year-old kids who came up with booklets and shirts (In which Devin signed. DAAAAAAW!) One kid just had his first metal show experience in which we all had a great HOO-RAH and "How does it smell?" convo. The seemingly never ending discussion about masturbation had me face palming (p.s. Don't start up the uncomfy subject of masturbation while you are nervous. Poor Dev, the conversation went on waaaaay too long. Glad Cody cut it off. HAHA!) Great show. It was also Gay Pride week so after the show was over, the streets were full of party folks to keep the energy up. I was gleaming all the way home. THANKS TO ALL WHO MADE THE NIGHT MEMORABLE!

Damn, I wish I could have met Dave Young. DOUBLE DAMN! *blushes
