3 songs, By Your Command and two from Decon, plus a special Ziltoid film done for the event! Short, sharp, Dev barely spoke, let the puppet do the talking..an interesting evening, kind of felt Dev was pandering to the event by playing the more heavy tracks in his repertoire, but any gig by him is going to be good anyway!

- By Your Command
- Juular
- Sumeria
+ Ziltoid ranting about his "Alice Pooper" :D Hilarious!

Shame we didn't get to meet the guys (except for Mike!!). The interviews and security were were apparently immense. Mike could barely get back in. :P

To do the gig I was told I had to play only new stuff. I had to fight to let me do Ziltoid, and had to edit it at that... :/

Super weird gig. Had fun, confused pretty much everyone except for a few awesome supporters... (hai guys!:)

OH HAI THAR!

I was le disappointed we couldn't see you after, but it was lovely to see you nonetheless! Safe to say a lot of people were VERY confused by the content...but VERY impressed with the performance 8) You guys did a blinding set. ALTHOUGH...as a big Skindred fan I do have to say Benji Webbe was the most fly looking person in the building.

Oh yeah, Juular and Sumeria were perfect, and the Ziltoid videos were shit funny. Well done! C:

I've already said but it was completely wicked, one day you're just sitting around minding your own business then bam you win Golden Gods tickets and three days later you're at a giant metal orgy.

Wonder why they wanted you to only play new stuff? Not complaining however because I was totally blown away by the songs.
ALICE POOPER! xD

HIIIIIIIIIII! (Awesome 15 minutes were awesome!)

Next time someone insists on you playing only new songs - play some Ghost. Then we can talk about confused people. :P
Anyway, I loved the setlist - especially the Ziltoid opening!

How comes you had to play new stuff? Skindred played only one new song, Twisted Sister definitely didn't play new stuff, and well...I just don't care about Sylosis or Buckcherry. The stuff you did play was totally perfect, but I still think four seconds of SYL then a song off Ghost would have been epicly funny...:B

Weird that you had to do new stuff when the others didnt..!
Good gig though, after a dodgy first half of the show (fuck, that "comedian" was as funny as shutting your nads in a car door) the second half was awesome.
Another great gig!

(and I finally got to see Twisted Sister :-) )

What? Andrew was awesome! MUCH funnier than Jason Rouse who everyone seems to spaff over these days because he likes metal.

I honestly have to say though, while Dev was very smart looking that evening....Benji was the best dressed frontman all evening. THOSE SHOES. FUCKING. SPARKLES.

Whilst it was great to see a short set from Devin I don't think he came off as strongly as he could.
I know he is pushing a new record but two songs from deconstruction seemed too much I think bad devil or a track from addicted might of gone across better.
I also think that an over-reliance on ziltoid may isolate some of the potential audiance. I enjoy ziltoid but I think there was too much for the short set - I wouldn't want Dev legacy to end up being known as the band with the goofy puppet.

The comedian between sets was awful, but the rest of the evening was great. Thanks Dev for tickets.

I agree with all that, though Dev did post elsewhere on the forum that he was told to play the gig he HAD to play new material only, though he managed to persuade them to let him do By Your Command. God knows why they told him to play new stuff only, its not as though he hasnt got a large back catalogue or anything to choose from... :D :D :D :D

Elsewhere else on the forum? ....scroll up :P

The only reason I can think is because Metal Hammer have been done a LOT of plugging of the new records the past few issues, so they obviously wanted to like...showcase the new material. I think having Zilly on the big screen worked, personally. He's kinda become the MC for the live shows now; and if this means people think he's the goof with the puppet...well they got one thing right :B Anyways, it got laughs.

I loved hearing the stuff off Deconstruction though I agree I think most of the audience looked a bit lost, maybe ending with Poltergiest instead of Sumeria would have made the set feel little less cut short but hey what can you do in 3 songs, personally I was lapping it up.
