So I found this post on the Nightwish forums after deciding to Google "Two Turntables and a Mike St. Jean."

So I promised to tell all about Deconstruction... well, there was this whole "Ziltoid for President" theme throughout, with Ziltoid speaking on the big screen about his wishes to become President of the Universe, and there were balloons with "Ziltoid for President" on them that were released into the crowd during the circus waltz section of Mighty Masurbator (with Ziltoid's speech slightly changed to be about his presidency campaign)... and yeah there were projections throughout, as well as the usual weird fractals and stuff he always has there was a really awesome CGI sequence for the opening section of Masturbator, with this huge run-down factory that then gets blown up when the heavyness comes in... oh, and in the title track, at the "Good lord it's a cheeseburger!" bit, a GIANT FREAKIN' CHEESEBURGER descended from above the stage :eat: (funnily enough, on Wednesday night I happened to meet the person who built it for Devin, she was telling me all about it and how she also made the daft photoshopped pics of Devin that he puts on screen before the shows... so I kinda expected it but I didn't realise how HUGE it was XD) ...oh and best of all! They had four backing singers doing the choir parts, that worked so well since the choir plays an important role in lots of bits of course, like in Juular and Sumeria and others... so much better than backing tracks. And for the encore he did a couple of Punky Bruster songs, which I've never heard but it was funny to see him go back to the first stuff he ever did :D

VIOLET, YOU MADE THAT? O__O

Dev did say a single instead of a double during the breakdown. What an amazing prop, I wonder what will happen to it, cant imagine it going back to a sitting room somewhere, unless as a novelty coffeetable....

The high singing of 'metal delimma' was done by devin, amazingly!

Shame I couldnt get tickets for ki or ghost, but seeing the two shows we did were, as Stinky would have said, 'was metal enough for me'!

After a good sleep, I still can't believe how good that show was. Decon is such a complex layered album that the live show should have been a mess...but it was the opposite! So much power, so much fluidity and FUN!

One of the best shows I've ever been too in 25 years. :)

Who were the other puppets on the screen last night??

Tommy on Planet of the Apes, Greg on Mighty Masturbator, and Floor on
Pandemic had their own custom made muppets on screen.

Oh, and Fredrik from Meshuggah. He definitely had the best muppet.

Joe from Gojira on Sumeria was a whale wearing a hat with a propeller.

Can't remember if Oderus had a muppet or if his part was there at all?

The rest were done by Devin.

Will post better review later, but still haven't slept after the concert as
the subway back to where I'm staying here didn't leave until 8 this morning.
Had six hours all to myself wandering about in London, looking around.
Got to listen to all four DTP albums though so there's always a silver lining.

Great fucking show though! Punky Brüster as an encore was totally
unexpected and seemes prety unrehearsed. Hahaha. It still ruled.

Have any of those songs been played live before?

But now I have to sleep.

I'm so disappointed! We queued for hours, but after Shining finished my girlfriend felt faint and left our place at the fourth row. She told me to stay, but I went with her anyway, partly thanks to the incredibly smelly, rude guy next to me who kept elbowing me and glaring at me, and stood there like a brick during Shining. He could at least have applauded out of politeness! Anyway, leaving was a huge mistake as we ended up at the very back. Being only 5'5", I couldn't see a thing the whole show, and I could barely hear over all the middle-aged guys in suits (?) talking! The show was amazing, but I didn't really feel like a part of it. Next time, I'll choose Devy over my girlfriend! :~P

Devy did great with the show. A fair bit of stuff was piped in, but it'd be impossible otherwise. Can't believe he actually managed the Mighty Masturbator! Must be a load off his mind, no pun intended. The Ziltoid balloons were a great touch, although I was too far back to touch any! Using Muppets for the guest stars was a brilliant touch, especially BTBAM's Tommy, complete with fist shaking! And the cheeseburger wsa an amazing touch, too. Looking forward to the DVD, so I can see all this stuff properly.

Sound-wise, I couldn't hear the choir at all and Dev's vocals got lost a few times, but that could have been due to my position. Dirk was amazing on the drums, really nailed it!

Oh, well. Trying not to sulk over last night. "Ghost" to look forward to tonight!
