I was thinking it, and it pops in and out, but at the sime time I'm fairly certain that won't be it.

It would be doable though, with Dirk being there and all.

He should have brought Zimmer's Hole with him. That would be killer.

Incredible gig tonight, amazing atmosphere.
Addicted seemed somewhat sprinted through, at least the first part but the fun that everyone was having, especially on the stage just made it a great great event. Anneke was the jewel in the crown tonight though. Quite amazing how every song just works live: not every album by an artist can say that. The only, shall I say, weaker moment for me was Resolve, which I was surprised about as its one of the ones I would have thought was ideal for live, but even Dev said after they'd played it that its a killer to sing..!!

Sound quality started very bad in Addicted, absolutely no mid range at all, sounded very hollow, but it was soon ironed out from Universe... onwards.

Thank you Dev for what was a real celebration tonight. A veritable homecoming so to speak.

While very improbable, you can't deny that it'd be epic.

Well. no.................then again, yes.

I was just thinking (well typing) out loud. I would actually prefer it not be that. I'm really not that much of a fan of the Strapping stuff.

It was shown on the big screen to a great reaction from the crowd. You will no doubt live on in infamy till the day you :dead:

Initial thoughts:

Very good gig. Excellent. But the perfectionist in me agrees with others.... Ki was somewhat noticeably better sound-wise and audience wise despite the heat.

I don't know whether it was the extra 3rd guitarist or just having things cranked too loud, to much gain or what, but the quality of sound dropped as a result which was a little bit of a shame. It became too loud, overblown and bassy, guitars and vox were getting somewhat burried..... where as Ki was right on the money sound wise to me. Still it didn't detract too much and sounded much better when I moved to the back.

Watching the ziltoid intro with him dancing to badger badger and what knot was bloody halarious.

Manwards wrote:Also, and this isn't a real complaint, but why was everyone in front of me nine feet tall and wearing a huge backpack?!

Agreed. As it's 2011, all major gigs should have sloping audience area like a mini coliseum or just make all the taller people stand at the back. I felt a bit sorry for the person in wheel chair in front of me who could probably see absolutely nothing. They should really limit the number of people to such gigs in future, I'd much rather pay more with less people.

Don't tell too many people but, from the merch desk at the back you get a pretty good view of everyone on stage, and for addicted at least it sounded better at back  I was like the main one going nuts back there lol

Agreed

Anneke sang her beautiful guts out and hit all the right notes all the time from what I could hear. When she sang that rainbow bit in Pixillate it was heavenly ! Sorta brought a tear to me eye, which isn't easy :)

No.
Devin should brought The Gravy Killers with him.
Now THAT would have been epic.

I dunno where else to post this, but as someone who'll be picking up the DVDs, I'm hoping Death will make a rare live appearance at the Deconstruction show. Think about it - they triumphantly finish Poltergeist; crowd's going nuts; the energy in the place is through the roof... and then, out of nowhere, they blast into the opening riffs/double bass onslaught of Death. Faces would almost certainly be melted off - wonder what that'd do to the parental rating of the DVD, though...

Ki probably was better sound-wise, but that's probably just the nature of the music. Addicted, with three guitars and lots of distortion does have the risk of getting a bit muddy in places.

Also, the addicted show was always going to be the closest to the regular set he's been playing on tour, just with Anneke and Mark. Still a killer performance though.

I was vaguely expecting Vampira to show up in the encore, but pixillate did very nicely indeed.

Onwards and deconstructwards!

Considering the programme/comic for these shows has a tombstone for SYL and a huge explanation as to why it died and why it won't come back, I'd be very surprised indeed if he played any SYL stuff. I reckon "By Your Command" and maybe "Earth Day" as encores. We'll find out in a few hours! In the queue now. I think some people have been here since 3pm! That's dedication...
