sounds great, and cool Faffy i et you were like woah Also deep peace
I hope somebody from the future was there with some sort of all-sensory-input recording device, so that someday I can just plug my head into it and actually be there at the show! Ki is my favorite album from the DTP, I hope the show was at least three times as good for you guys as the actual album
It was such an amazing experience. I can honestly say I've never seen anything like it.
As far as how it sounded, to me it was a lot more 'in your face' than the cd. And I think that was a combination of it being a live performance coupled with that Devin seemed a lot more comfortable with the music than he seemed to be when he recorded it, like he's already been through the 'ups and downs' of Ki and now it's time to show it to the world without fear. Although I'm sure he was nervous about it I think he slipped into the groove pretty early on.
Backing musicians were all the drummers as previously mentioned, Kat Epple, Dave & Mike Young, Brian Waddell, and the bassist from Ki who's name escapes me. Female backing vocals were the pre-recorded vocals from the album.
Also I remember Dev thanking faffy and violet, me and Ian (ffian1) looked at each other and said 'They're here eeeee!'

Excellent. Do you recall which drummer played which songs? This is intriguing!
The other bassist was Jean Savoie (sp?). Same guy as was on the album, anyway.
As for who played what, I lost track. I've never seen a gig with that many personnel and instrument changes going on. Seems there were people scurrying on and off the stage in between every song, and sometimes in the middle.
Deep Peace? Yep, he nailed it. Likewise the ending of Ki (with Dev and Dave doing the arpeggios in sync.)
Oh, also, Devin brought Reyner out on to the stage at the end to wave to the crowd.

That was probably the best gig I've ever been to in my life. So intense, I was sporting goosebumps for most of the set. High expectations for Ki were totally blown out of the water. Jean really looked like he was grooving on that bass, I'm glad Dev could get him over here for the night.
Blew a load of cash on new merch too after promising myself I wouldn't. Woops.
I'm so pumped for Addicted now. Tonight is going to be amazing.

Intial thoughts:
Really great gig. As I said before, when they cranked the heavy stuff up it was like a well-oiled monster truck. The best sounding gig production wise that I've been too in a while. I actually took my ear plugs out to hear some of the heavy stuff for a while because it sounded that good even though it was very loud. Don't usually do that.
I am a musician myself some what, so I can't help spotting mistakes but there were next to none. Very tight performance.
He pulled of Ki album perfect I think, I was waiting for that awesome arpeggios which must be bloody hard to do, and he did it with full operatic vocal perfection too. And people went f****in insane naturally. Absolutely bloody nuts. I loved how the entire crowd were really going for it naturally, Devin seemed a little stunned by the deafening crowd roar, it was really over the top.
I am a perfectionist so there were a couple things could have been improved venue wise (radiators, off! cough cough), but nothing could distract from those amazing moments. Might post more next week when I've taken it all in more. Brilliant stuff.
Who's that his kid? I couldn't see what he was doing at the very end after we thought he left stage

It was really incredible. Met a whole bunch of nice forum people outside (introduced myself as Lodge and a bit of a lurker).
The drummers played what they were most suited to. RVP played Heaven Send, Dick V played Trainfire and Ki, and I'm afraid I forget the other drummer's name, but he played on Coast and others. Kat (flute) played on Terminal, Ain't Never, and Winter. The female vocals were triggered... probably the only bummer of the whole thing.
Deep Peace was indeed the best version I've ever heard.
Bring on Addicted...

We were up in the balcony, and there was a chunk reserved, I assumed, for family of the band etc. There was this little blond curly haired kid there with these enormous ear defenders on. I wondered if that was Reyner at the time - I guess Tracy was there too, although I wouldn't recognise her. Then at the end Dev brought the same kid out on to the stage and he did a little wave and went back.

Wow, that's awesome Tracy and Reynor were there. I've always wondered what the little tyke looked like-- for some reason I always imagined a junior skullet, which probably isn't accurate...
Did you guys see filming for the DVD? Like where were the cameras, how many, etc?

Really, really wished I could have been there last night (and, indeed, present at all four shows) but things didn't work out this time around, unfortunately. It sounds incredible though - really looking forward to picking up the DVDs when they finally come out. In the meantime, though, did anyone get a video of the title track (and the arpeggio madness near the end)?
Hope the person who passed out during the beginning of "Ki" is okay. I didn't feel the heat in there as I was near the door.
As for cameras, there were a few set up on stage, one up in the balcony, and a handheld one in front of the stage. I think they captured everything. Dunno if there were any crowd shots, though.
