The song suits the feeling of the album more. And, as others said too, it has a bigger emotional value in it.

Hard choice, but in the end I'll say... ZTO version.

I love them for different reasons... But the way Dev changed the riffs made me vote for the new one.

I like both, like pretty much everyone else, but as of right now I prefer the Addicted version because of the real drums and the different color Anneke's vocals add.

The poll needs a third option - they're different enough to love both!

As awesome as the new one is, it can't top the original for me. Listening to Hyperdrive on a bus at night on a trip away from home was such an experience when I once happened to be just in the mood.

Well, in Cool Edit I can pitch shift a song without changing its tempo, so it'd be possible. Might be interesting to try.

Oh, as for my personal preference it'd probably depend on my mood. Party-mood = Addicted Hyperdrive; introspectively-gazing(-out-starship-window) = ZTO Hyperdrive. Love both.

Well, tough choice, but new version is fresh (obviously) and Anneke really kicks ass so I go for new. Still love original, how could I not...

Heh, the tempos of the two versions are slightly different as well. I have managed to sync them up though; the drums are a couple of microseconds off in most places, but I suppose that can be attributed to human vs. computer differences. The first and last bassdrum of the song do match up nicely so I guess I can't improve it a whole lot anyway.

Sounds weird to have both these moods in the same song now. It's probably nicer to keep them separated.
