anyone else feel like trainfire is a natural extension or sequel to bad devil? not just the train imagery but the not-so-subtle sexual vibe, sound... idk.

I'm getting that vibe too, and also of Ziltoid bonus Travelling Salesman - it's like a mini-demo hehe. Getting the vibe of previous tracks all over actually, very small hints and nuances.

I got this the other day and I have to say that this is a masterful recording. I came into this album expecting the unexpected yet I was still surprised at every turn. It is truely beautiful.

I'm going to buy the shit outta this album.

Thank-ee kindly Devin!

Ki surprised me. I have to say in a good way in many ways but it takes a listen or two to fully appreciate

I'd rather be disliked for being honest than worshipped for writing things with the intention of being some sort of god.

I aint a god,I'm not an alien, I'm just a dude.

Back from the promo tour, people generally think the album is boring, and people who get high and listen think it's very dull.

I listened to it the other night again, and now have a hard time listening to the back catalog. It's different yeah, and theres going to be a lot of 'worshippers' who give up. I truly love it...and not because i'm in awe of it.

Don't ever sell yourself short Dev. I have been a musician and have been producing my own records for over a decade. There have been times that I thought to myself the same things you are saying here. The most important thing is that you make the records you want to hear and create. That is the reason I have always been a fan of yours. Your music is honest and genuine, never trendy. If you try and make records that everybody else wants to hear it will end up sounding like nickelfag. Anyways, most of the people that would say Ki is boring, don't know shit about music anyways. Keep your head up man, and fuck the haters. 8)

I caved, I listened, I came. Words cannot describe just how incredible this record is and will be. Now, get that preorder up so I give you the cash you rightfully deserve.

This is not an album. Its a fucking experience!

I love Ki, but just because someone thinks it sucks, doesn't mean they don't know shit about music Different people have different tastes and if this isn't for them, then that's all there is to it. People could say the same thing about you if you don't appreciate the vocal passion of Andrea Bocelli or the dark pop sound of Depeche Mode...or even the happy go lucky don't give a care in the world feel that is Hannah Montana

Feel free to download it and check it out. You may not like it, and thats good to know! If you do, who knows? Maybe buy it? or not...If you want me to tour, it has to sell so...your call.

If you listen to it expecting it to blow you away, it won't. Just let it play in the background for a while.

enjoy...who knows, in a couple of months (if it lasts for you that long) you may hear it differently.

Reviews are gonna be harsh, hang on!

Dev, man, don't shit on yourself. Its great! I listened to it at 10:30 at night the other night and it reaaally got me happy. I love it.
Its YOUR album. You wrote it for YOUR enjoyment, don't forget that. The so called "worshipers" that you say will drop off aren't true fans, they must at least respect it and they will get what they want in due time.
We're behind you man. Good luck with sales and fuck the reviewers. Noone knows more about the music than the musician who wrote it.
Don't force yourself into touring. ALL of us would LOVE it and REALLY appreciate it but if you don't want to, we won't be too disappointed!

Keep it up :D

Please. Spare me the moral lesson. I really don't need it. Aren't you being kind of a hippocrit? This is my opinion, and by your own words here I have every right to it. Or am I the only one that can't have one? What's wrong, did I dare mention your favorite band nickelfag? The point is, if you don't like what Dev is doing, go post it somewhere else. Like the nickelfag forum maybe, with all of the other people who have no taste in music.

I love Ki, but just because someone thinks it sucks, doesn't mean they don't know shit about music.

Yes it does.

"sexy seventeen year old, moving up and down the pole. She don't tell me what I need to know. see the train burns, all night burns, trainfire up and down the line."

This really makes me wonder about the story. Theres so many places it could go or have come from.

Discuss?

Yeah really, there really is such a thing as music with no merit, and such a thing as objective originality. Anyone is free to not enjoy it, but nobody who cares about music and has any idea of originality would say it sucks. The "everything is subjective nothing sucks nothing is good" thing is insane, and I've noticed people only do it with music. Nobody tries to say horror B movies are artistically creative even if they find them fun to watch, and nobody tries to say Godfather is contrived tripe even if they hate mafia movies.

Well, who else was original at the time? Jimi Hendrix? Should I say he sucks? Nickelback does suck and I love Ki, but like that other guy said, everyone is entitled to their own opinion, which means they can like whatever they want to like. Please you two, don't be trolls on the forum just because you feel that Dev's music is ALWAYS good and everyone who says differently sucks. No one likes trolls.
