A bit late i know, but have been listening to the album non-stop since release, at first i found it hard to get into but now I'm loving it and can't wait for the next :)

I had a small question for Dev, something i was mildly curious about, was there any influence of Melvins for this record? Because they made an album (The Bootlicker), that doesnt sound the same, but was created with a similair mindest of keeping the guitars clean where they would normally be heavy and through that creating an album with an immense sense of weight, but a weight coming from a totally different and unexpected place. Also in the same vein the album was part of a trilogy of releases (actually technically four albums) that were made to work together.

FINALLY have it.

Very first impressions (ie after 1 listen): may take a little getting used to, but I'm sure this is pretty much the way Dev intended it. Very mellow, very very different. I have no doubt it'll grow on me after repeated listens.

That was sweet, where did you get the tabs? Somewhere on this site or did you figure them out?

My GOD this is a sensational album. I love every track. I love Che Dorval's contribution. The ambience of the record is mindblowing. It's a masterpiece...

Just like Dev said... It's a different and dark album at some point.

The production is perfect. It has great deepness in it and the ambience makes you wanna close your eyes and fly. Excellent atmosphere.

Love it for it's sensitivity and darkness.

It still humbles me everytime I read someone elses reaction to hearing Ki for the first time. :D

I wish I could go back to that moment again....

In that case, I should provide my own anecdote.

My first listening, I wasn't impressed. I liked the first few tracks quite a bit, but starting at Ain't Never Gonna Win..., I started getting incredibly bored, and Terminal was too quiet for me.

Since then, Ki has grown on me, and the only track that I can say I'm guaranteed to skip is Lady Helen; I still don't have a liking for that one.

My first impression was like - "Finally !". Then, after few more listenings I was like... "It's different".

Daneulephus is right. Ki must grown in your heart through time. It's not that easy album, but surely one of his best.

I disagree. I immediately loved it and still love it to the same extent except that now I can sing along because I know all the words to the songs.

I was bored earlier today, so I took a nap and had Ki playing on my stereo while I slept. It was a pretty nifty experience, as some parts of the album really drew me towards going to sleep, then other tracks would suddenly jolt me out of my half asleep state. You should try it, it was funsies.
