Amazon lists Ziltoid available June 5th

There's two different titles, a 2 disc set (presumably the limited edition) for $24.49 and a single disc for $16.99. Neither disc has any details such as track names or product description.

Both are available for preorder (note: Amazon doesn't charge your card until the order is shipped). The release date is given as June 5th. Wasn't this supposed to be available around May 21st?

So, my question is... Should one preorder from Amazon (or other source)? Does it matter? Maybe I should Ask Tracy. One advantage for me for ordering from Amazon is free shipping and fast service. When I order from Hevy Devy the order usually takes a week or longer (Canada to California). Amazon will get it to me in 2 days. Also, Amazon reports to Soundscan. That could help Devin to show that people are buying the CD.

But, on the other hand, do Dev and Tracy get more money when we order from Hevy Devy? Which would be more important in the long run?

There appears to be slight confusion over the release date. Tracy said May, InsideOut said May, then InsideOut said June, then InsideOut said May again. Amazon have said May, and have now changed to June. It's all very confusing...

I personally shall buy the 2 Disc Special Edition direct from HDR. I'll be preordering it as soon as Tracy gives the go ahead. I assume that by buying through HDR all the money goes to Dev and Tracy, whereas buying from other places it doesn't. But that's just my assumption/hope and could be completely wrong. If I'm ordering Dev online, I always do it through HDR. The smilie face makes my day all the better when I get my order.. Adds a lovely personal touch to it.

PS: "I'm not buying it, I downloaded it and I'm a f*cking scumbag" - Nice one! :D

Yay for 100% loveliness!

But nobody will check that last box.. Not even the true gur-ass-hole-n-shpeils.

True, but I got to call them all scumbags and none of them can reply or we'd flame their dumb asses and shame them into paypalling money to Dev and Tracy.

Come to think of it, how bad of an idea is that? What if people who d'led it sent $10 to the hevydevy email address via paypal? What was it again? That might help make up for it and the downloader wouldn't have to pay full price.

(Yes, I know downloading is still wrong. I'm only suggesting a way for Dev to get paid what he's owed since he's an independent artist.)

Speaking of legit d'ling. Why isn't Dev on iTunes?

There's always confusion about any albums release date. I've seen several for Ziltoid, I saw several for Synchestra back then, I saw several for Opeth's Ghost Reveries and those three are the last that I can remember being excited enough about to keep track of possible release dates :P

The record company doesn't have a license through Apple? Isn't that what it takes, paying a license or something to have your artists songs on Itunes? I really don't know.

Local store says June, so I'm waiting to find out if I can get it sooner from HDR

That's totally what I voted rofl

I'll probably get it from somewhere where I don't have to enter credit card info again, so cduniverse or somewhere that accepts paypal

I'm, like, the biggest dillhole lately! Dev is totally on iTunes. I see Ocean Machine, Infinity, Physicist, Terria, Synchestra, Accelerated Evolution as well as the SYL albums, too.

Sigh.

At least this time nobody else pointed it out to me. But, still, you'd think I could do a search and find out before I started flapping my gums (fingers?) on a message board.

Anyway, Dev is available on iTunes. Now, if iTunes would offer the tracks in 256kbps then I'd actually consider downloading the music. (I *have* downloaded from iTunes, but only either current pop music or 80's pop. Nothing that I'd listen to over headphones and care about the quality.)

Hey, it's my thread, I can hijack it if I want. Stop looking at me like that.

Oh, and just to complete the hijacking process...

I looked at Ayreon on iTunes... the top two downloaded tracks from Ayreon are Day Sixteen: Loser and Day Three: Pain.

Both are the tracks Devy was featured on. Coincidence? I think not.

Pity that last one was such a disappointment.

I'm buying the two disc version from HDR. It's the only way to go, IMO.
