They're nothing more than the personal views of some journalists who think they're God. If they don't like the album, they should give it to someone who will. Don't like it? Don't listen...
I'm supposed to listen to a reviewer who gives 30 Second To Mars, Kaiser Chiefs, Arctic Monkeys or The Fratelli's a better review than any Devin album?
It's all a matter of taste and unfortunately, most journalists have got (and leave) a shitty taste.

Yeah but they have a platform to voice their opinions on so that lots of people hear htem, making their opinions more important than yours :P

This is easily the one of the most retarded posts all year.

Wawawiwa, you must have gotten up on the 'wrong side' of the bed.
I'd still like to nominate http://www.hevydevyforums.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=6612 as most retarded post of the year.

Go have a look at the Kerrang channel. They don't even have the guts to play anything remotely heavy/challenging.

It is no great loss to him that Kerrang don't dig Ziltoid. If anything I reckon its a compliment.

Yeah, I second that. If I were a serious musician, I'd take a bad review in Kerrang to be a huge compliment.

Kerrang is for the type of pop music that tries to cash in on the underground and rebellious appeal of alternative music. The kind of music that's written purely to appeal to the teenage angst of 14 year olds. I think it's pretty fair to say that Kerrang is just the version of Smash Hits for teenagers that like rock, rather than boybands.

Out of Kerrang, Metal Hammer, and Terrorizer, Terrorizer is the only magazine I have any respect for. They're even open minded enough to cover the aggressive side of electronic music, which is impressive in my book, given how close-minded metallers can be about that kind of thing.

If Terrorizer gave a band I liked a bad-review, then I'd respect their opinion, even if I didn't agree with it. Kerrang, I just laugh at.

ok ....well after weeks of anticipation (ordered my special edition may 12th) , today my 2 disc cd was here , woohoo , well like a lot of ppl i had heard the entire album before , but as always with Dev related releases , i pay the hard earned cash , so this isnt really a review just a humble little post to say i now have the mighty Z in my hands at last lol , must admit , the bonus disc hasnt got much on it , but its a bonus disc and is the same price as the jewell cased version , so i aint complaining , "don't Know Why" isverry funny , like a ziltoid interview by foreigners lol , but had me laughing , and the travelling salesman , just made me sit and say "wtf?" lol , but anyhow , album is superb , and i rate it up there with OM and Terria , which are my 2 fav albums. also recieved my SYL - new black double cd (cd 2 is a 6 track sampler for other bands like arch enemy etc) , and its signed by Dev,Gene,Jed and Byron , so thats cool too.
Well guess this is my longest post here hahaha.

Deep Peace guys :)

Whoa, noodles! That's one of the best reviews I've read on the album. You rule (temporarily).

He missed the best song of them all though: Hyperdrive. That's what happens when you write your review by the booklet rather than the actual CD :P
