Hey all, just a message or two...

First, sorry for the screw ups with the paypal, credit card, no shipping to certain places b.s. It's the first time I've done a presale not from the home. Honestly, I can't right now...I have a lot of work to do and it wouldn't make sense.

That said, Century Media are good people and are trying their best to make it available.

THAT said, the important thing for me is that you still hear it. It comes out in a month or so, it'll leak soon, and there's tons of records after this so, again...thanks for the support. I'm really really lucky.

There's a part of me that gets turned off by the hyper commercial nature of this process, but again...in terms of the dtp, Addicted is 'the popular one', and needed to have this treatment as part of the 'artistic' (gag) expression. The character needs to be popular when he goes to war with himself. Thats where the 'Nickleback' comparisons came from, not the music...but the aesthetic. When all 4 are done, it should make sense.

There's lots of folks (as I kind of expected) that cry foul with Addicted for being 'what it is'...it's not as quiet as Ki, it's not as heavy as Strapping etc... and again, Decon. is a crusher, so you'll get what you want (or part of it) at that point, and if you have any qualms about Addicted, just don't buy it. Simple. I'm lucky to have this job, but yeah...it is a job as well. But please don't assume that the commercial nature of Addicted includes the 'squeezing every last drop out of the listeners' aesthetic.

But just so you know, I LOVE this record...and yeah, LOVE is a good word for it. It's pretty life affirming for me. And it's actually pretty frikkin heavy in spots.

And yeah, I'm doing a mess of European festivals, with one very special one (not announced yet) and it's cool. This dtp isn't the last thing I'll ever do...it's just whats happening now. Come if you can, if not...I'll be back.

So lets carry on..I'm working on the next one now.

All I can say is I've been rocking out to "Addicted" that got copied from the radio show. You got me dancing - which is ultimately what music should be about - expression. Thanks.

I'm pretty sure many will agree that it is WE who are really really lucky to have you do the things you do for us Dev. I can't think of any other artist who is constantly keeping us updated in his work and still has time to chat with us on the forums. We really can't thank you enough and it makes us proud to be fans. No matter what you do we'll follow ya because everything you put out is quality :) ...........and if anyone says otherwise then they must get ready for the oncoming shitstorm of an argument

I think this record is a very good thing. People seem to have this mindset where 'heavy' music can't be positive music.

Heavy and "choatic" music has had the best influence on my, more so than any other. It brings a sense of controlled insanity and chaos that helps heal and purge.

Best believe I will be there. It will be different this time. I won't be offering you any of my buddie's weed  ...maybe we can have a sober chat. I will just introduce myself as the kid from Progpower in Atlanta with the homemade Infinity shirt.

Hope all the complaining over the CM Paypal issue doesn't sour your experience with this whole thing... Good to hear there are some good people at CM!

I will now retreat to bathe myself in cleansing oils and beat myself with birch branches to wash away the dirty residue of commercialism and frustration. Of course, by bathing in cleansing oils I mean eat a couple of hotdogs, and by beating myself with bitch branches I meant watch Family Guy in my underwear.

I know an Australian tour is likely (more than), but just in case this is the gig not to miss, what is it?
Was gonna travel to Europe to see Neurosis at one stage, wish I had of now.
At least I know their working on new material, and will play again, another chance.
I know this cause I listen 'return to zero' on KMBT (see link in signature)

ahhh... progpower Atlanta. It was well worth driving 1000 miles to see DTB, and then end the night hangin with Tracy and Dev in that tiny stairwell... Thanx Dan for knowing that CM dude!!

I hope CM can sort something out!

It fucks me off when so called fans tell musicians how to do their job..."your last album was shit. make your next one sound exactly the same as the second one", "playing a venue bigger than 200 capacity? SELL OUUUUUT!!!!!!!!!". If you think it's easy, do it yourself.

We're behind you Dev! Anyone who isn't can go bum a horse.

Hey Dev...
Thanks for everything.

I have spent all day bitching in the addicted preorder thread and thought I should try to say something positive.

Ummmm, yeah so thanks. I am sure one day I will have the DTP hoodie I desperately crave for the upcoming Melbourne summer.

I am also sure that Century Media will be more than happy to take my money when the time comes.

So yeah, I certainly don't want to be part of the horse bumming brigade.

Hurrah for addicted... and the albums left to come.

Don't worry about that pay pal thing, Dev. People from Europe, including me will buy your album anyway.

Complaining about Addicted is really hard to understand, because it looks like a really strong album with straight message. Just do your job... as long as you love it and in any of ways you like !

I really hope Century Media giving you a solid support. I will love the fact, when you'll get more new listeners.

You're da best, Man !

I think it's pretty hard NOT to like Addicted. My family, who listens to country, radio rock (as well as classic rock) and really terrible modern rap, found Addicted quite appealing.

As people have said; those who can't pre-order it now will just get it when they can. Damn I know I will. If there's two different covers as well (Crayons and blood?) I will probably end up getting them both. The album sounds amazing from what I've heard so far, and Hyperdrive is utter bliss. I just want to be sure I can get a signed copy, then I'll be happy.

Best of luck!
