I was scanning the threads to see if there was anything related to a thought I had driving home from work tonight and didn't come across any so thought I would just throw this out there...

I think the seed for this idea came from reading the back cover notes about the songs on Ass-Sordid II again last night. It occured to me that I would (and I would bet a lot of folks would, too) find it really interesting to see a show that is done in same vein as the VH1 Storytellers shows. I would think this would be more appealing to Devin than a book that I had seen mentioned in another thread since it involves actually playing music. The premise of hearing the stories behind songs I, personally, find fascinating. While it is all very well and good to say that music means whatever it means to the listener based on what he/she brings to the experience of hearing it, I think that the message or thoughts and feelings behind the creation of the music is at least as important. Hearing about the process only serves to enrich my experience of hearing the music...so have been loving the YouTube vids and think something like this would sort of take it to the next level.

Superb idea. I would pay good money to have a dvd like that in my collection. What an event that would be, be cool to be in the audience.

i really enjoyed the video comments on physicist, so i would love if he did that.

I guess I am interested in hearing how stuff comes to be, you know? Little things...like how Soft becomes Ki...is the cross referencing between songs just a lark or is there more to it than that? I am not remotely as creative or talented as Dev (or a bunch of the other artists here!) - I can sing and write some poetry here and there...but I can explain what I was thinking with every poem I've written. So, I wonder if there is a similar process for Dev when coming up with the stuff that is so appealing to us.
