The place to speak about Dev's current projects, and everything yet to come

The creators of rock band just announced a new feature that lets anyone create and upload their own tracks in rock band to sell, including established artists and labels. All you need is a little bit of knowledge of how XNA works and an XNA Creators account. I think this would be great (and cheap) promotion for Addicted, plus extra revenue would be generated. I think Devin songs would be tons of fun in rock band.

Here a link with more info:

When this thing launches, any chance you'd want to jump on it and give it a shot Devin? It doesn't seem like it would be too hard for Devin to do, or any of us really. We just need access to the masters in order to do it. If your too busy, I'm sure a bunch of us here could band together and make some note charts for his songs. I already have an XNA Creators account, know how to work the tools, and have a working knowledge of how to chart songs in rock band.

Seeing how big rock band is (and how big this new feature will be) I think it would be the best possible way for us to spread the word about Addicted and future/past Devin releases.

Great idea.
It would certainly be a surefire way to get the songs out there and generate interest in Dev and his music.
I would love to play some of Dev's music on Rock Band, currently I am bad ass at playing Scorpions - Rock You Like a Hurricane :P

As long as it doesn't fuel the whole "omg i r amazin at rok band so i r automatickly gewd at playin teh reel geetar" beliefs that some people hold I'm all for it.

The number of times I've had people say "wow, you must suck at playing a real guitar if you're that bad at playing Guitar Hero" or "well I'm really good at Guitar Hero so I decided to get a real guitar" makes me feel like killing myself sometimes...

I don't mind people wanting to play guitar because of Guitar Hero and what not. It does help instill a good sense of rhythm. But like you said, being good at Rock Band doens't make you good at guitar... xD

Although, can make you good on drums. Whaddya know?

BUT ON TOPIC! Yes, that would be awesome.

I hate this kind of games, but it would be cool if a Devin's song could be on it, i want to see how many nerd gamer kids can play the Ki arpeggio

otherwise I have no interest.

Actually, surprisingly enough, the upcoming Beatles Rock Band will have songs that feature harmonized vocal parts. Interesting idea on their part, but myself not being a fan of the Beatles, I will still not purchase the game.

Once it launches, all Devin needs to do is hire someone to make these note charts for him, or rely on fans to create note charts for the songs. Both are easy and cheap. TONS of people play rock band these days, and it really is one of the best ways to make money and promote at the same time.

I'm more than willing to help make this happen when it's released Devin since I know how to work XNA and chart songs. Maybe its something the street team could collaborate and all work on.

Playing the guitar on Guitar Hero/Rock Band is alright fun, but what I'm actually interested about is the drums. Having Devin songs could be the final motivator I need to actually buy a rock band game.

With the huge selection of ...5 buttons, lol. So probably all of the nerd gamer kids, with it simplifying everything and all...

I liked that game for about, 2 days. Then I got sick of sitting there through songs I dislike, and got bored of the game in general. But I'd definately pick it up from time to time if some DECENT songs were on it, so yeah, it'd be good.

Shame.. Guitar hero and Rock band is so stupid. Why send so much time on a plastic guitar with 5 buttons and bang your head in front of your TV when you can be in a studio with drop tuning, doubble kick and go BUAAAAAAAARG! ?

Some people haven't yet grasped this, so I'm gonna state the obvious:

GH and RB games have nothing to do with playing real guitar. Idiots may think so, but that's just the same as with people who think they are good soldiers, cause they kick ass in Counter Strike. These games are JUST FUN. The same way as first person shooters are just fun.

Funny what Mikael Åkerfeldt said about GH games in 2006:

"We´d gotten the Guitar Hero game from a friend of mine at Blizzard entertainment. I looked at those toy guitars and though, "Come on now...I'm fucking 30 years old!". Yet, I got hooked, real hooked. And Mendez got really hooked as well. We played all the time. Even right before shows, which is not recommended! As we´re blasting into the first chords of "The leper affinity" we´re like... "What buttons should I push?". It was horrible!"

But I'll say this again, the drums interest me quite a lot. It looks like they really have something to do with real drumming when you play on the hardest difficulty. As a drummer, I feel like it could be fun to try.
