Framing Ocean Machine. Input?

Hello everybody!

After years and years listening to it, I decided I'd pick up a second copy of Ocean Machine. This CD means the absolute world to me, Devin's music has impacted on my life through many times of happiness and sorrow.

So I felt it would be fitting to get a copy of it framed to take pride of place on my wall.

So fans, just wondering if anybody knows if there exists a vinyl copy of Ocean Machine? That would be killer to get my hands on..

And secondly, what thoughts would any of you have on getting engraved on the little (memory plate? cant think of what it is right now, little square with writing on it) thing down the bottom. I'm thinking perhaps either the tracklist, or the final line from Funeral:

"It's so cold today, so I get away, and I'm left behind with nothing but words..."

Please tell me what you think.. I want to get this done... Right.

Welcome to the forum Phoenixnow!

I'm not sure what you are trying to describe here though. Can you try explaining it a little more? Do you mean a tattoo? Or something else?

I think he wants Ocean Machine in a photo frame like thing so he can mount it on the wall?

As far as I know, there are no vinyls of any of Dev's work, except Alien.

For framing a CD, I'd guess a jewel case is a bit thick for a photo frame. Maybe you could frame just the booklet, or even have it magnified to poster size and frame that?

A while ago, the band Oceansize conveniently had posters of their album covers on sale in their webshop. They were about 25x25 cm (10x10 itches), and a couple of members of their forums had all 3 of them framed. Looked pretty damn spiffy, all 3 of them on the wall together!

Personally, I think the cover art of Ocean Machine is pretty hideous, but if it has a special meaning to you, it may well work :) For the engraved bit, I'd say a quote from the album is cooler than the tracklist, but you'll have to choose which quote for yourself. Maybe the opening poem?

Wow, such a quick reply :) Thanks for the welcome too!

Yeah I'm looking at getting the CD case framed with the CD as well and maybe a photo or two of Devy on there, just so I can have it on display for all the special people in my life to see :)

What I'm looking at getting done is similar to this:

I do like the cover of Ocean Machine, I'd very much like to get a handle on some of those Terria prints however.. Call me a fanboy or whatnot but I just cannot get enough of the Dev :D

@ Biert, the opening poem is a great idea! I don't know why I didn't think of it before.. Lucky thing I asked here!

Its really quite amazing, so long I felt as though I was the only person in the world who knew this masterpiece even existed, and here I am getting feedback..
This is really special!

There's some Terria images on the website of Travis Smith (artwork designer). Not sure if you can order hard copies of those though... (or if all you need is a .jpg)

I've framed a few cd's in just the way that soilwork one is done. Mine don't have a frame though. I just bought some cheap A4 sized glass frames that came with wood backing and metal clips and simply arranged the cd and booklet over a piece of white A4 paper then put it all together and voila! There's currently 5 or 6 hanging on my wall. Nothing exciting though, the one's I've done so far are Soulfly's first album, Chimaira - Impossibility, CKY - IDR, Municipal Waste - Hazardous Mutation, Amen - Death Before Muick, and Sepultura - Roots.

The reason I've done these particular ones is because I've gone out and bought the special editions after already buying the regular ones, so I figured I'd stick the old ones on the wall.

I am considering buying all Devins albums again and doing a huge display with a frame and some Devin artwork and stuff.

^^Poster size album covers in the same style as those Oceansize one's would be really damn cool, I must admit. Only band thing I have on my falls is an Opeth - Ghost Reveries Wall flag.

The flags are pretty cool, but I'd definitely prefer to have framed pictures similiar to those Biert posted.
