Dev- Question regarding your 'financial' path

Dev,

This one is way out there, and hopefully doesn't hit too close to home, but I think it's a question some of your older fans would be interested in, and younger ones would appreciate.

I wonder how you view your path from a professional's standpoint leading up to now, more financially speaking. You have over a dozen albums, complete independence from labels and all of that crap, and I pray you feel you've reaped everything you've sowed. As focused and objective-oriented as you are, are you able to at least not worry much about money? Retirement? All the other expenses that come with life?

How do you compartmentalize finances with the daily rhythm of making music? How do you (or can you) plan ahead for non-music goals?

If I'm crossing a line, my apologies. I don't ask to sharpshoot, either. Hell, I'd love to get paid to make music that people would actually wanna hear. :)

I think (and hope) your insight on the subject would be of benefit of fans who might think it's all gravy.

Thanks,
JM

My assumption is that Dev makes most of his money from his production work.

I was just gonna say he's a rent boy.

I could be undermining him, for he may actually be a pimp.

I'd like to think he has a Zebra striped hat with a peacock feather in it, and a purple fur coat.

There's nothing wrong with being a whore but you have to come to terms with the fact that kissing is off limits.

I reckon he's about as far from a whore as you can get in the music biz, and while he may not be a rich as Sting, I doubt he'd exactly be starving....

I'm not entirely sure asking a guy about his financial situation or planning is y'know.. ok. Little personal.. But that might just be me. :?

It's ok...

I'm still month to month in all honesty...

It's cool though...I have what I need to do what I need to do, I've never been good with money.

Maybe somewhere down the line,.

Some points to consider:

- Devin's job IS music
- Devin's Art and Passion IS music
- Devin's way IS Music

I'm sure Devi'n ponders financial results and terms, but they are rather means and not ends.

So! It's up to us,to support Devin by buying his music and Merch... and attending his shows, as I dream to some day, here in Chile or next to.

He's a Producer too and ..."Oh so pretty and witty..."

Appreciate!
