Hey Dev! I've never seen any interviews or anything where you talk about the time you worked with Lamb of God producing and engineering As The Palaces Burn.
So, how was working with them and why doesn't that album sound as huge and crisp as all your projects?
Thanks!

Good band...

I'm fine to not work with them again.

Palaces has good energy and sounds like a bag of ass.

...live and learn.

Truth? Who knows. Maybe so, maybe not.

I think the production quality of Palaces really made the album for me. I never really got into their later albums, they sounded too "clean". Just my two cents.

I remember reading something (maybe the old HDR site biography for you) that they used all analog and recording was a total mess. Apparently they were very unprofessional and not ready for big time production that Dev is known for. I took it in stride because I still think that's their best album.

Good one, actually

quick random notes:

- LoG is Ok, me thinks Sacrament has the best production

- Opeth >>>>>>>>>> Metal

- Dev + Opeth >>>>>>> Universe

- Have you guys listened to Sights & Sounds? Dev is working on their upcoming album, and by the sample tracks on myspace, sounds fuckin' awesome.

I actually had a chat with Chris Adler in an interview not long before they landed in Australia to do this years Soundwave festival. I discussed with Chris the bands past work with Dev and if they'd consider working with him again in the future.

Check it out. http://metalobsession.net/lamb-of-god-c ... er-2812009

He produced a LoG album?
Wow, I'm surprised I didn't hear about that.

I'd like to see Dev produce another GWAR album, but I don't see that happening.
I can't believe where he took them with their Beyond Hell album.

... are you seriously saying opeth sucks? i think you need true metal 101 sir.... opeth is unbe-fucking-leivable. just listen to black rose immortal on morningrise and tell me that band sucks. or, really, listen to any of their tunes, for that matter. and oh my god dev producing? i would literally cream myself. literally.

Actually I saw Opeth in Melbourne a year or two back...it was a long concert, but one of the best I've been to in recent years.

On a side note, one band people have to see live is Less Than Jake. Yeah ok, they're punk and punk sucks yadda yadda (actually apart from a few mainstream bands I enjoy punk) but LTJ are just a good vibe, very tight and got their shit together (and so they should after playing for over 10 years)...plus the bass player used to have some pretty sick dreads, They are the masters of cover versions too! :guitar:

Sorry a little OT, as you were people.
