Have you ever thought about releasing individual tracks of any of your songs for fans to play with/remix or whatever? Or does that idea totally offend and sicken you? I suppose there may be legal issues with record companies....?

It would be interesting to see what other people could do remixing some Dev, but I'm not sure how much added value there would be. Also, not a lot of artists seem to do this kind of thing.

But it would be SO FUN!!

Even if it were only one song, it would be fun to see all the parts separated out. Seems like many Townsend songs are loaded with tracks, lots of vocals and what not; lots of different and interesting sounds...

It would be really cool to see all the inner workings!

I have Cubase, and I realyl wanted to do a sort of remix thing, but well, without being able to seperate the tracks, it turned out kinda stupid

Although, putting Love? on tons of strange reverb with excessive amounts of distortion was quite funny. (And somewhat interesting, actually.)

Hell yeah i'd be so up for remixing a Devy track, always wanted to see the hidden layers and inner depths of his music and what makes it so amazing and creamy/crisp sounding. Would probably love to remix Triumph or perhaps Skesis. \m/

Didn't Steve Vai do a similar thing to this recently? I think he released all his tracks without the solos or something, so you could make your own.

I thought of Skeksis right away as well! When Devin shows some of the layers in Skeksis on the Making Of Alien, I'm like O_O

So I'd LOVE to see everything there is!

Skeksis would probably be the awesomest song to dissect indeed, lots of stuff going on at once thar. But think about Color Your World, and uh I'd like to say Regulator or some song from Ocean Machine but I think they're a bit simpler, keyboard and shizzle. Terria would probably be the coolest, Earth Day, Deep Peace, Canada. I'm scared that someone might abuse the songs somehow...

I would love it if he did this. I'd be up for hours, just doing all sorts of stupid stuff.

Hell yes im up for remixing Skesis, that would be so damn awesome but it has alot of tracks and i mean ALOT.

Its almost like I hear a new track with each listen, its so damn brilliant. Think a majority vote would be for Skesis from Strapping and maybe sommat like Triumph form DTB and maybe Deep Peace from Terria or something like that. A Zilly song would rule aswell, yeah Colour Your World would rule, or Planet Smasher.
