Devin song being used in Saskatchewan Roughriders commercial

I was wondering if anyone else was aware that 94.5 The Jack is using a Devin Townsend song on the radio in a commercial for a ticket contest for the upcoming playoff game.

I wish I had more info. I don't even know which song. It all happened so fast. It was just this morning on the way to work when I heard it, and I was tired and groggy as usual, but when it was over, my fiance and I looked at eachother and said "That was Devin, wasn't it?"

Maybe someone else keep an eye on it, and then you'll be able to shed more light.

I don't know what this all means. Does it matter? Was Devin asked? Does he care? Should he care?

What time was it? Most radio stations have their shows posted online so you can listen back to it to find out more.

I couldn't find it on the site, though I may be wrong. It was on around 8:55 AM Tuesday… it was not on in that period of time this morning.

There's another commerical for a Riders Party on gameday, and I'm pretty sure they're using a SYL song.

i was listening to it on the 29th of october in regina its using aftermath from the chicken feather album. it was somewhere around 2-4 ish in the afternoon .

lol i freaked out in the car after i figured it out it was aftermath playing.

id have to say jack plays some of the better music more metal than other stations. just wish they would actualy play some of devs songs instead of just having it on a comecial

OK, well, that must not be a coincidence then!

Very interesting. Apparently he's not good enough to be played on a regular basis, but to pump up a ticket contest he's suitable.

And yes, the Jack is EASILY regina's best mainstream station.

i am debateing with myself about seting up my own little "KVLT" ( bad black metal pun ) station in my little shit ass town. the closest thing to a "metal" scene is a crapy poser metal highschool band that wants to think they can growl.... ouch im being harsh.

I just heard part of Aftermath being used in the background for a radio spot for Opie and Anthony's Whipem Out Wednesday bits.

* I believe that a certain amount of music has to be used in order for artist to get royalties. ie Megadeth's Bass riff from Peace Sells was used on MTV news for a long time, but since it was a short clip that was looped over and over they didnt have to pay royalties.

Yep, up to 30 or 45 seconds it's royalty-free.
