You've probably heard of bands like Pink Floyd synching to the Wizard of Oz, Rush with Charlie and the Chocolate factory, and just now I learned that Radiohead's Kid A synchs with the Dark Crystal! So I think you know where I'm getting at. Anyone wanna try synching a Dev, or SYL album with a movie! I think it could be really cool.

The album Kid A by Radiohead syncs with The Dark Crystal, similar to The Dark Side of the Moon with The Wizard of Oz. The effect is created by starting Kid A at the line spoken by the Skeksis, "Fly my crystal bats! Fly!"

Wikipedia, we love you.

what does that mean, an album syncs with a film? does the music on the record change when the scenery in the film does or so? i can hardly imagine any band would do that on purpose, it seems like a lot of work to me...

It's usually attributed to coincidence, and the fact that the human mind picks up more on similarities than on differences... Or something. :P
Also, Pink Floyd have denied having done anything of the sort on purpose.

Well I'm sure no one does it on purpose. But it's still cool none the less.

Next time your watching a cool movie, think of a Dev album that could go with it, and try it out.

The movie The Cave has an SYL song on it. Haven't seen the movie so I don't know if it syncs or not.

It's on the soundtrack, but not in the film.

really, what is that about? why do the film people release an awesome cd with lots of cool tunes on it that all don't show up in the movie? they've been doing that for years now, and i still don't get it.
hmm, seems like this is the "ike don't know shit"-thread, but... i go fuck off.

Actually speaking of Floyd and doing crazy things with their music, The Wall is one continuous loop. The album starts on the end of the sentence at the conclusion of the album, thus manifesting itself in:

Side One
Track 01 - In The Flesh?
'..we came in?'

Side Four
Track 07 - Outside The Wall
'Isn't this where..'

http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/en/8/84/The_Wall_isn%27t_this_where_we_came_in.ogg

But everyone knows that already. I'm just saying..
I love Pink Floyd.
