Yeah i'm back with the same question. As you may know last time I couldn't decide between T and OM. I got T and love it (listening to it now actually). Now i'm ready to get another DT album. Which one do you suggest? I plan to get them all eventually obviously. I heard OM is a favorite of many and a companion piece to T. I heard AE is more of an average rock album. I heard I and P are simply not his best stuff.

I've recently just gotten into Infinity. I love it! Can't believe I've never listen to it more before.

I say go for OM..not that it's "better" than the others, but as you mentioned it is more of a logical progression. Whicheve one you get will be awesome though

Ocean Machine is also much easier to get into than the others.

It's more song-driven than the others, more of a straight-ahead rock record. There's some corkers on there though....

click on Discography, and give Storm a spin.

Catchy song but yeah not as studio-trickery. I like it though.

I'd go with Ocean Machine if you want to make the progression, but if you want to get more variety, then I'd reccomend Infinity, which is an unbelievable release.

I've heard samples of all of OM. I like it a lot.

It's still my favourite DT/DTB album. It's unlike anything you'll ever hear again and maybe therefore you should purchase Ocean Machine - Biomech
LAST and go for Accelerated Evolution next. Many parts of AE sound like a stripped down version of Biomech in my "opinion".
If you're in a "Zappa" mood, buy Infinity.
If you're in a "Strapping light" mood buy Physicist.
If you're in a "Biomech light" mood buy Accelerated Evolution.
And save Ocean Machine - Biomech up to the end.

Mmh, I'm not sure about the difficulty of "getting into" Infinity, well it's 50/50.
When I started listening to Dev's music, the first songs that caught my attention were -I think- Christeen, Bad Devil & Ants. Ants caught my attention in a "WTF ?" way, but Bad Devil is pretty catchy. War too.
I'd say OM as it's my fav', but as Das Schuetzenfest says above, the perspective of ending your mmh... "Townsend discovery ?" with the 3 masterpieces that are Funeral, Bastard & Death Of Music, is great too.

I'm starting to agree with you.
At that point he should be ready for the mighty Death of Music.
You have Terria and Synchestra, right? Buy AE.

NO NO NO!
That would be stimulus satiation!
Only one Dev release at a time!
Every Townsend album needs its time to sink in!
