I was curious if anybody here has ever heard DTB on the radio before? I played a track off of Synchestra the other night on my show and it made me curious.

I used to play some on internet radio. JJJ in Australia will play some on the rare occasion but the dude who hosts the "metal" show didn't like DTB - AE and I'm not sure if he digs Sync. He does like SYL but yeah, we should all get on the case, its just a matter of all collectively emailing radio stations. It would work best if we do one station at a time but with all of us emailing that particular station.

Perhaps we could all find the contact details of a radio station we think would be suitable then start from there.

Who's that? Haugie?
Yeah, I've heard him play songs from Punky Bruster - Terria, but not any AE or Synchestra yet.

I Actually Did! It was about 2 weeks ago, it was on a Monday night metal hour thing in Vancouver. They played Earth Day. It was pretty cool to hear it on the radio though. The week before, they played Shitstorm.

I don't even listen to the radio anymore. I have a "radio station" playlist on my iPod that shuffles my songs but plays them according to the ratings (more stars get more plays) and doesn't play them if they've been played recently. Nifty. So, for me, DTB and SYL get tons of airplay! KGRP plays all of Dev's stuff. I heard Ocean Machines just yesterday!

If I would ask a DJ around here about Devin, I'd have to say the name three times, then spell it out, before the DJ would say "Never heard of him".
Then when I would explain what music he makes, I'd say "Progressive, melodic, somewhat poppy metal" they'd be like "EEEEEEEEW METAL! GO AWAYYY!!!"

I play SYL and Devin Townsend every week on my show. It's the best Canadian content around and I need 35 % so Devy is always there to help. I'm even going to be airing an interview I'll be doing in Quebec City.

Cool, keep us posted on that interview! Are we going to be able to stream/download that interview when it's been/being broadcasted? It's kinda hard for me, receiving Canadian radio in The Netherlands.

You're gonna need a bigger antenna.

I think Tracy mentioned at some point that she's heard SYL on XM radio, one of their metal stations. But, I don't recall any mention of DTB on there.

lol, when I originally had synchestra ordered at my local HMV, then phoned up to cancel it, the guy was like "yes, pete....somebody townsend" *rollies*. I know one of the guys from a local band here used to DJ a bunch of local club nights and would throw on some Devin, but never heard any on the radio..then again, I don't listen to it, haha

A Swiss radio played some SYL & DTB in their metal show (on sunday, 22h-00h00).
They played several of Alien when it came out, and Pixillate & Vampira when Synchestra came out.

They once played a song from Alien, can't remember which one, then I from Meshuggah.

The problem is that most of the rest of the week, the music is really not that good (except a few other thematic shows, ambient, chill-out stuff).
