Well, i decided to last night, listen to every Devin Album in order...

OM
Infinity
Physicist
Terria
AE
Synchestra

All in order...nonstop

Just the major DTB releases, and you know what i discover..They flow greatly together...Just 6 hours of DTB, it was like a book, and each of the albums were like chapters to me..It was a huge experience..you dont realise how each of them depend on each other, like some people think Physicist should be cut out, well, i attempted to listen from Infinity to Terria, It dont work, it was like you needed something to fill in the gap between them..

Ha, it's like 3:00 am...just a random thought...try doing what i did..when you get bored or something.

I've thought of buying a 6 CD changer for my car stereo just for this reason. Well, not that I drive for 6 hours straight very often...mostly to set it on shuffle and enjoy. :)

I've done it several times. I've done the same thing for other artists as well. Opeth, SYL, Metallica... Always a good time!

I challenge someone to do this with every album Iron Maiden has released. All, like, 123. I don't know how many they have a lot, and seem to release a new live record every month.

Sounds great I'll try that :D
Or I would but the only dtb albums I have are Terria and synchestra.

Well, I've done it at home with several other bands (erm...I should reword that), but it would be nice to have that option in the car as well.

Real Player's got a nice shuffle option on one-artist-at-a-time playback. No need for the stereo carosel anymore (yes, I know this isn't new news).

This is why God invented iPods. Make a playlist.

Rush would be a good one for this, too.

And, I think you should leave out live albums. They don't count. They're like greatest hits compilations.

I hate iPods, iRiver all the way. Mine is filled with many bands discographies which I have ripped myself at a high 320 KBps bitrate.

On my 12 hour drive to the DTB/Dark Tranquility/Opeth show this Wednesday, that is EXACTLY what I am going to be doing. RAWK!

Have you ever used an iPod?

I've never used an iRiver, so I won't say I hate them. Having used an iPod for a year and a half, I can say that it's really great.

My point was that it would be very simple to create a playlist that would play an entire artist's discography in order.

I don't have everything ripped at so high a bitrate, though all of my Devin-related work is. Most of it is at 192 kbps AAC, which is probably equivalent to 224 or greater in mp3. AAC pwns mp3.

Yes it does.

I did this before Synchestra came out. It was really enjoyable. I've also done it with Pink Floyd (that took literally the whole day) and Porcupine Tree.
