I could imagine it being awesome to see live. I, however, am unaware of any footage of it, although I really don't have a lot of the live downloads and such that have been available.

I have a dodgy-quality recording of the first time I saw Strapping, in Melbourne 2001.

They played Namaste and it rocked. They also played Om, Seventh Wave, War, Truth, Earth Day... man that was a good night!!!!!! The quality of the CD is shit at best. The best-sounding song in terms of quality is probably Mountain/Earth Day/Namaste. The guy must have changed positions in the crowd or something.

Never seen any live video footage though. Sorry!

Yeah I've never seen any video around, there are more than 10 different audio bootlegs floating around. Some of them are eaiser to find than others though.

I have never heard of a video bootleg of this song either.

The Melbourne show that Juz speaks of has quite a cool version of it. That whole bootleg is quite cool, the setlist is excellent. The sound quality isnt so hot...but thats what makes bootlegs cool!

I can't remember where I got it actually, I have had it for quite some time.

I suggest you check eMule or Soulseek...other than that I am not sure.

Soulseek seems to be the way to go, I haven't tried eMule though, I belive theres a torrent for a lossless SYl gig somewhere, dont know if Namaste is on it or not though.

Namaste was actually better than most of the Strapping stuff they played the time that I saw it live. They also played the first two minutes of Planet Rain, and all of Kingdom. Apparently it was their first time playing the songs at a concert. And the show only cost $5.00!

If I remember correctly, Planet Rain might have even led into Namaste...it was a nice surprise, to say the least. That show came about 5 days after the first time I saw them. I think I found out about it at that first show, and it was the following Monday. And as a bonus, it was at a very small place with a small crowd and plenty of opportunity to meet the guys. I spoke with Gene and Jed for a few minutes each, and talked to Dev for about 3 seconds. Good times. Namaste and Planet Rain sounded exactly as they do on the CD, and Planet Rain was pretty damn close. They also played the beginning of "OM".

Not trying to make anyone jealous  , it's just nice to share the memories...

I actually own a bootleg DVD of the Sydney show from that tour in 2001. Also very shit quality but Namaste is definitely on there! I might be able to recommend the store I got it from if you live in Melbourne. I say might because I'm having trouble remembering the name of the place, but if you're in Melbourne I'll find out for you!

James.

I seem to recall Metal Mayhem (just down from Flinders St station) stocking certain CDs when I lived in Melbourne. I also seem to remember someone saying they've shut down, but couldn't say for sure.
