Yeah don't get me wrong...it's not that people not in my circle aren't as important...I've just been infested with a bunch of rude people that use the phrase 'you owe us' and I just find it annoying...it has actually kept me away longer than needed. Not trying to be a dick.

Take as long as you need to regroup before you release anything, don't let the assholes that roam the internet get to you. Most of us here at the hevydevy forums will be here whenever it's time for it to be released. I may be restless for new Devin (I had a dream the other day that Devin spoke at my college and gave me an advanced copy -_-), but you deserve to take as long as you want to release it. Hope everything's going good with the family

hey dev are you becomeing more active on the fourms or just realy interested in this thread? if indeed you are becomeing more active sure having updates is awesome and all but you mostly post about work right? "album album record studio bla bla bla" i bet everyone would be just as happy to have you come talk and mingle about random stuff of no significance. like you found something you find amusing. stuff like that.. for example something like "hey guys i just saw my neighbors dog run headlong into the fence i laughed at that."

or again i could fuck off? :P

^ this is why viewing the Metallica forums is amusing. Loads of 15 years olds crying "we are the fans, we pay your wages, IT IS YOUR DUTY!"

Ridiculous attitude.

And here, you don't come across as one! If the album news were to be posted over at Blabbermouth though.......
Good to see ya back on the forums! Swing by whenever you feel like it 8)

Great update Dev, you have such a way with words you make it seem as though when you write a post your writeing to each person individually lol, your family and friends are the most important thing to anyone i think even if they dont know it themselves. Im looking forward to hearing your new stuff but you can take as long as you want over it!

Thanks for the update Dev. Take your time. I love the idea that your working at your own speed and doing things on your own terms. Respect. :)

Its really great Devin posts here from time to time. It's a much more personal way of informing your fans than having some media outlet do it.

As for his music. I, like others, am still discovering some of his back catalog from DTB. I can live for a bit without new music from him, but rest assured I will be very happy when we finally get to hear some new stuff!

Hehe absolutely, good point :P

lol, sorry about that guys, it's just that it would really be a dream coming true to me...

Anyways, nice to hear from you again Devin. Like everyone said, it's cool to take the time to do what you have to do. Live your life. And if it means that your next album will come out in 10 years, then so be it. Anyone who has ever had a personnal project of some sort knows that rushing things isn't a good thing. Of course, people on the Internet sometimes act like dicks, saying things not true/they don't think. Don't bother trying to please everyone. Do it your way.

And, like the others said, you can come up on the forum just to chat about anything you want, not just work. It would be cool to hear from your neighbour's dog hitting a fence lol

Dev is such a beast. I support your decision to sort things out...an album made with a clear mind would probably turn out better (I suppose). Just as long as you don't pull an Eric Johnson and release one album every 5-10 years!

Thanks for the update Dev. People on the Internet are saying you owe them music? While that is pretty ridiculous, part of me thinks it would be cool to have people who loved my music so much they were demanding me to release it. ;)

And bitter, hypocritical hippie pricks? Care to elaborate? Or not, you're a busy man. But it sure sounds like an interesting story.

A really interesting update, there. Dev, not that you know me or anything, but I've been clean and sober for over 15 years now. It really is a wild way to live. I went to school for writing but make my living as a teacher these days. I used to worry that being sober would keep me from being creative. It didn't. Life and bills and shit, did though. LOL. But, then, creativity is a way of looking at things, I guess. Anyway, what I really wanted to say is that I'm glad to hear of your "cleanliness" and I know it's not always an easy thing to do, especially in certain lines of work. I hope it continues to help you. I'm sure I'm not unique, but I too have had stuff go on like you're talking about. In the last ten years I lost my mother, married, had two kids, changed careers, and now I'm getting a divorce. Life really is unrelenting and intense. Hang in there, brother, and put one foot in front of the other. Your music has meant a lot to me in the last six years and has helped me find a lot of beauty and joy in the world (and that's saying something when you consider that I get joy listening to "Zen" or "Possessions"). Your journey is very interesting and inspiring to me. Maybe that's not what you want to hear, but I know as a teacher that it's good to know sometimes that my work is useful and doing something for someone. I can't wait to hear whatever music you're putting together. It will, at least, be interesting. That I know I can count on.

Bitter and angry... LOL! Happiness is a choice.

Haha that shit about the Metallica forum is classic. Whatever the Dev does, we all know (and hopefully he does too) that we'll stick by it - so take your time Devin!! Absence only makes the heart grow fonder!

You owe us nothing. In reality, most of us owe you - for changing our lives through your music.

The man fucking rules.
