hey dude...organic spiral...good job man!! you are a better man than I...I had to join the army to get away from my "bad habits." now im stuck in iraq (only for about another 2 weeks or so) so dude, go with it and stick to it.

i used to listen to infinity, ocean machine, terria and the cover song room 429 while on shrooms and it was absolutely beautiful. spec-fukin-tacular i must say. but now i can't but it is still badass in their own rights.

now i get adrenaline highs daily from mortars, rockets, small arms fire and rpg's and the only way to calm my ass down is to listen to a devy record and close my eyes. his albums bring back good and bad memories of the past and i can't complain one bit.

thanks dev (and family/friends) and to all of the fans for getting me through 13 months in baghdad. i appreciate it from the bottom of my heart.

I've never done drugs and i don't drink alcohol myself, and i'm not being moralistic to people since everyone can do whatever they want!

Sorry, but that is still the attitude. "I dont need drugs to enjoy what i do." I dont either, and to make a LONG story short, i dont either and have decided to stop doing them for the time being. I dont need drugs to enjoy myself, but i enjoy the insight they bring to me. If you dont think they do, w/e, i dont really care. I used them, enjoyed them, and have decided to stop. I say i will continue usage in the future, but only at like really special occasions (aka 2 or 3 times a yearish). Its like commenting on how bad metal is when the only thing you have heard is slipknot. You just havent even tried it, and already assumed you dont need them or even want them to have a good time. Thats my whole point. I respect your decision to not do them, but dont say that you dont need them to enjoy what you do, because i am a user and dont either. I dont like stereotypes, and the druggie loser stereotype is by far the worst one.

straight or wasted - after getting to know all the little bits of all the songs - it doesn't make too much of a difference for me anymore. It's just as good when I'm straight. However - most of the time I am not.

You know - my mate got the new strapping cd yesterday - and we were both watching the "making of" dvd that came with the cd, when I noticed devin messing about with a bong while in the studio. Even though I kind of put drugs and devin together - for some reason I didn't think dev would be a smoker. The dvd explains how the recording sessions work, and how all the technology fits together, and to tell you the truth I'm amazed that those guys can smoke weed and still have the motivation and concentration to take on such a huge task. The techonlogy side is incredible, and with the depth of it all, I'd really want to have the clearest head possible. I can't believe the amount of effort and technology that goes into it, and these guys do it all stoned! incredible. Don't get me wrong, I've been smoking weed for ten years and I can function just as well as the next guy when I'm wasted - but this kind of blew me away. I was quite surprised and impressed...
