He looks more serious, grown-up and intelligent.

Tell me, how could he possibly look less serious, grown-up and intelligent than that first picture? :P

Y'know, one thing I've ALWAYS wanted to see is a visual timeline of Dev's hair.
From mohawks to bobcuts to long & fine to cleanshaves to butterknife-in-toaster to skullet to dreads to buzzcut, and everything in-between, in precise chronological order.

i'm not really surprised that he did it, during the opeth tour i actually had a conversation with him about shaving heads as i was just starting to grow mine back after a couple years of having it shaved, after 4 or 5 years of having it long. i honestly don't even remember how it came up, but it was still sweet nonetheless.
of course i don't really remember exactly how the conversation went, it was a REALLY good show. it was the one off in toronto where they headlined.

I recently shaved off knee-length dreadlocks.
Everything else aside; I am freezing cold all the time.

Why?! D:

I get upset when people with long hair cut it. xD
I have a bit of a thing for long hair
I respect the fact though that is hard to maintain, I used to have hip length hair. I haven't been able to grow it that long since I had it cut.

But still, sad times to the skullet. ;-;

I was trying to go do civilian work over in Afghanistan. Didn't wanna look any more like a terrorist than I had to.

Also, after 8 years of dreads, and 10 years without even getting a trim... eh. A change wasn't a BAD thing.

I do miss them, though.

Aaah I see. That's fair enough then.
Wow, that's impressive though. I don't think I could of stuck with dreads for 8 years!

It's suprisingly easy, actually.
You start them, then you just, like, do nothing.
Taking a couple of minutes to tighten the new growth every now and again becomes habit. Past that, it's just learning to keep them out of the way!

I kept them all, though. All individually packaged, labled, and charted for original placement, stored neatly in my freezer.
Y'never know when I could get that big record contract, allowing me to grow my hair out a few inches, and just stitch'em back on!

 Really? You kept them?! That's awesome. I'd be lying if I said I didn't have one of my cat's armpit dreads saved in a plastic bag for no apparent reason. I don't know how it got there, but I just don't feel right about throwing it out.

^^ Probably not a good thing to mention when making first impressions, but it's better if all this comes out sooner rather than later

Anyways,

Hot damn! He looks handsome! (If not a little like a logger). I just hope he never ditches the glasses, those are very becoming on him. So, forgive me if I'm a little behind, but is that his current hair cut? Or is the skullet slowing creeping back?! I haven't seen any up to the moment pictures of Dev. Whatever the case is, he's still rad as hell no matter what.
